Hongfu/Avenger FM188 ?
« on: October 02, 2025, 10:52:46 PM »
Any thoughts on the Hongfu FM188 frame. The geometry works well for me, but I haven't really found anything online about it.

Any general thoughts on the quality of Hongfu frames compared to say Carbonda? I'm also looking at Light Carbon, TanTan, Ican.

Are you still following this frame?I saw on some Chinese social media platforms that a few bike shops have built bikes using this frameset. In their posts, they describe it as a CX/Gravel crossover frame. The frame itself is not particularly heavy, but no specific weight is mentioned. It is said to have relatively high stiffness, with a not-too-low bottom bracket drop, and a wheelbase that is not very long in order to maintain adequate agility. It is not suitable for fitting tires wider than 42C. Overall, it is somewhat similar to the Canyon Inflite CF SLX 8, but positioned as a more affordable version.

I'm not sure if you can access the Rednote link, which contains some photos provided by bicycle shops:
