Hey dear forum,
I am looking for a new frame, to build up a Gravel Bike, mainly for Bikepacking and tours with a mix of road, woods and gravel.
For the harsh trails I am taking my fully.
I need would love to get some inspiration on my choice.
A bit to myself: My name is Manuel, im 31 Years old and from the south of germany, so many bike trips till now went to the alps.
I am on the heavier side with around 100kg, i am 194 cm tall and have an inseam of 92 cm.
My wishes for a bike frame are:
160/180mm Disc Brakes at least on the front (as I am on the heavier side)
Threaded BB
at least ~50mm Tire Clearance --> Planning 40mm for the start
2X Chainring compatible (50/34)
More Comfortable Geometry
Optional:
UDH Hanger
Mounts for a rack like Ortlieb Quick-Rack
So far I focussed on Carbonda 696, Carbonda 707, Mondince FM326, Airwolf yfr056.
My thoughts to the frames are:
Carbonda 696: shows good geometry, but Small Disc Brake Mounts (is it really an issue?)
Carbonda 707: Feels like to low Stack and to long reach for Bike Packing
Mondince FM326: Great Design, Very large size available, too much Reach?
Airwolf YF-R056: shows good geometry, but Small Disc Brake Mounts (is it really an issue?), Good Weight Limit (150Kg)
Do you have anything else to consider?
Are there other Frames you can recommend for my purpose?
Do I really need 180mm Discs?
Looking forward to your comments!
