How much of a load to the axle carry when on one side the top of the end cap rest against the Groove in UDH hanger and other side in the frame?

I have tested my axles on the trainer yesterday. I had some short sprints, more than 1100w. Tomorrow I have some though threshold with some hard stands so also quite demanding for the bike. Then I will verify the conditions of the axles. The only concerning things for me is the shape of the ending of the axle. In the set there are some plastic adapters, but not the accurate shape as I have.

I've tested this on road earlier and it held up during my threshold uphill session (9mins with 300 average power 2 times repeat). I'll try some sprint session next week. Just need some rest :D

There should be adapters in the box to make the end flat like your other thru axle.

Yeah, I know that, however have a look. I attached almost all "ending" options for the axle. If I use the thin and flat one, the thread is a bit short, around 0.5 cm. For now I used it without any adapter, it's working.

I'm in the same boat, so I just asked for 18mm p1.5 heads. Seems like the kits come with them now but the batch I have has a lot of really random sizes. Thru axles dont need to thread all the way through to be safe and secure. It is better that you place the correct adapter and have the threads come a bit short versus the non-tapered portion of the axle having less contact with the fork.

So you suggest to use that one, with the flat adapter, like you said, the thread will be a bit short, aorund 0.5 cm.

The more people post about these, the dumber I think they are (sorry to those who have bought).

1. They've clearly not got the lengths quite right.

2. The anodized threaded sections look pretty in the box but chances are you're going to wind up needing the ones in a colour that don't match your frame.

3. Why the hell does anyone want axles that can be moved between frames? If I'm getting a new frame, I can get new axles - in the meantime, I'd rather there was a permanent bond between the thread and the axle.

Weight. And they're interesting and new :)

Preface with I haven't ridden mine yet, just test fitted. In your situation I would change the threads to be the longer option, and then use the concave-flat spacer that's a bit thicker. Or a combination of spacers to make the longer thread fit. Not having the concave spacer after the convex head doesn't seem correct. I would assume the concave/convex interface locates and distributes the clamping force evenly so you definitely want that.

With that brief, I'd go Sixweel, Overfast or these carbon/ti ones: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010727140825.htm

Having read your post you probably have some steal and old bike, even a brand that doesn't exist ;) we just like and enjoy some new stuff and we love to test it, that is all :) moreover, the weight ;) I also noticed, that more often some people comment posts, and they have or no advice or just simply want to offend someone, and they have no clue and don't want to help, which is dumb :)

I’m satisfied with the testing they’ve provided.

These are thru-axles and need to be torqued to no more than 8–9Nm, which is the same specification as my Overfast and Sixweel axles.

I’m not an engineer, but the testing appears appropriate, and they’ve been very transparent with both their process and the results — something many companies don’t typically provide.

So I’m comfortable taking an informed view rather than listening to armchair experts who don’t work within the cycling industry question whether the product is suitable for use.

From what they’ve shared, it looks like they’ve carried out sufficient testing to ensure the product is safe and fit for purpose. Given the level of information they’ve made available, I’m confident they wouldn’t release it to market if it didn’t meet the required standards.

Plenty of people buy carbon wheels based purely on brand reputation without ever asking to see test data — at least in this case, the data has been openly shared.

To each their own :) - I'm sure they are strong enough (especially when tested in a lab), but I'd rather have axles whose color isn't dictated by thread pitch, that are definitely the right length, and don't introduce a point of failure if a small screw comes loose, but there's a market for everything.

If everyone only posted about stuff they personally owned, this forum would be even quieter than it is already.

That’s fair — different priorities for different riders.

In my case, I wasn’t looking at them purely from a “new and interesting” angle. What mattered more to me was whether they’ve been tested appropriately and whether the torque specs align with existing standards (which they do).

I agree lab testing isn’t the whole story, but it’s still more useful than speculation. Given that the manufacturer has published both process and results — which many brands don’t — I’m comfortable making an informed decision based on that.

As for the modular/threaded design, I understand the preference for a permanent interface. For me, correct fit and proper torque matter more than whether the interface is one-piece or modular.

No product is perfect, but based on the available data, I don’t see anything inherently unsafe about them, unless someone chimes in with and problem!

Axles have been tested, also the bottle cages. I'm very pleased and satisfied. For now I can fully recommend the product. All is fine, without any slack, after longer 400w intervals, after sprint, even over 1200w no issues. I know, garmin and compare the watts shows some different values.
