New Climbing Frameset - any recommendations?

100-200g in the frame will help but isnt gonna make or break a 6kg build. Its gonna be all about the components.

- Wheels + tires are the biggie- how much are you willing to compromise here?
- Groupset- Rim brake is the lightest IIRC, followed by mech hydraulic IIRC. 1x is pretty much mandatory though if you're doing steep climbs gearing might demand 2x
- Cockpit- obv go for something with a round seatpost for more choice, prob the same with a 2 pc cockpit as well
- Drivetrain- Speedplay or Eggbeaters will prob be the best; tons of crank options available obviously

The Avenger Shuttle SL does indeed look stunning - and ive looked at it closely.
Would build into a fantastic climbing bike - however the price is very high.

Listed on their site at $1899 for the SL version. At that price, we're getting close to being able to buy a TCR SL frameset on sale, so the value proposition just isn't there, especially considering any depreciation considerations.

However I do agree that this frame does look fantastic!

I have to say, the Avenger SL is looking like an unbelievably good bike and think its going end up being my choice (ive decided to try and include a bit of aero leaning, rather than all out climber, which is why this bike seems to fit the bill so well).
Ultegra Di2 and a set of Aero Raptors should make this an all round weapon.
 
I would love to do what you suggested - I just dont think I have the balls to try it...so guess ill just have to save harder!! :-)
Any chance they would do a sale anytime in the coming months do you reckon, or are they in such high demand that they dont need to??

I've just bought a SC-R55D with the same goal you have in mind!
But wouldn't mind starting to look into an upgrade for a lighter one, are you by any chance located in Europe?
Btw I would also look into the adapt DP-B02 their SL model seems nice as well, but you would need to do the same thing with Adapt since they only sell B2B.
