Flat mount facing

Hello,

I have 3 chinese frames with flat mount. While the front one seems quite faced, the rear ones are wrongly faced, making me really difficult to set up the brakes. Any tips?? I know the park tool is the best way, but no shop has it near me...

The icetoolz is just good for removing excessive paint from the mount not for facing. For facing you need something mounted to the axle as your disc is mounted to the hub guided on the axle.

I have built 3 Chinese bikes and have used a sanding block on all of them and the brakes are perfect on all of them.

I have an older model Carbonda 696, and the only issue I have with that frame is that the brakes are pretty much impossible to center. No stores near me have a flat mount facing tool (that says a lot imho), so I may risk using some sandpaper to clean the mounts after all.

I saw a tip to use longer mounting bolts combined with the conical washers from V-brake pad hardware to allow for better caliper fine tuning.

If removing the paint doesn't solve your problem.
In case you use a +20mm adapter in rear... I'd work on the adapter instead of grinding on the frame.
If it fails, there's no damage besides a new adapter. Minor change in the interface drastically changes the orientation. I wasn't that brave to try..I had the same issue on the front of my carbonda.. luckily I could find a store (Cube.... they do have the issue quite often, at least the workshop guy told that to me).
