Replacement Dt swiss style rachets
« on: February 04, 2026, 05:12:00 AM »
I'm looking to replace my rachets in my elite edge wheels, however there are now tons of different rachet styles, and they don't all seem the same?
Some have a hollowed out back, som are solid. Some have a small spring, som have a more stiff spring ect.
Does anyone have a clue on how interchangeable these are?

Eg. would the elite hubs fit thes? https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005010664172740.html or perhaps these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009002943924.html

Any inside on rachet and springs compatibility on hubs would be nice, it seems really like trial and error if they fit or not.

I used ztto ones that are hollowed out and they fit RD13 hub which is what you probably have in your edge wheelset.
I used same ratchets on my yuanan(elite), xmcs and tagoola wheels which also have cross compatible freehubs. I don't think hollow/solid ratched matters as long as you use the provided springs.

Make sure you are buying ratchet with 2 springs since a newer dt swiss design (ratchet exp) has only one with the other ratchet screwed into the hub shell

There are a lot of hubs that use one spring. I have one spring in my yuan an hub and it works great, same with goldix 240sl hubs I had on other wheels with classic ratchets. Also new conical ratchets from goldix uses only one spring

But these hubs have a rubber o-ring instead of a spring on one side, right? The ratchet ring itself is not fixed

I have these ones in the 54 teeth configuration for my Elitewheels Edge wheelset. I only used the ratchet itself and reused the springs and stuff that were already in the wheel hub for the original 36t. Never skipped a beat in ~1500km so far but it gets a bit loud for my liking.

Did you buy the titanium version or the steel?

My elite wheels edge hub only has a spring on one side, the other side is held with some red rings.

I bought the steel version. I do recall only using one spring in its installation. I think I tried both at the beginning and the hub would not close, so I reverted to using the stock accessories.

It works properly with the red spacer that comes with elitewheels that use 1 spring, nylon spacer on hub side and metal spacer on freehub side. 36 t ratchet doesnt come with the rubber o-ring, 60t one does. I dont think it makes a difference.

My conical set from goldix came with 2 springs, with a DT non exp spacer and 2 springs noise is not nice and feels a bit grabby. Feels better on elitewheels than other DT style clone hubs.
