In case anyone is considering buying a Deda stem Superbox V2, keep in mind that you may need a dedicated compression ring.

I contacted Deda, and they replied first thing on Monday morning. After I sent them the dimensions of the Mondice compression ring and the size of the gap, they confirmed that this is the correct compression ring for my setup (around €37), although it can be found a bit cheaper online.

Hopefully this helps anyone facing the same issue.

I'm glad to hear they were able to help. I'm in a similar situation in my build where the included compression ring does not work with the spacers that came with the Kocelvo stem I'm using, so it's on hold until parts come in. I had assumed the stem would either come with a compression ring, or the one included with the frame would work. It's my first build, so I'm certainly learning as I go.

I really liked the look of the Deda Superzero but you don't realize the compatibility issue until you get to the final assembly.

I assume you bought the stem that the other member recommended? If I had done the same, I probably wouldn't have run into this problem either.

I was genuinely surprised by how quickly Deda replied to my email.

I think someone else here mentioned it earlier in the thread. I'm pairing it with these Kocelvo bars: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256810300965066.html since I prefer wider bars, and the max drop width is 380mm on the first listing.

**There are plenty of options. I actually went for the aluminum one. I weigh 86 kg, so for me it's not about whether it's a Chinese or a non-Chinese product. I simply feel more confident with aluminum, even if it sacrifices some comfort since it absorbs less vibration than carbon. But anyway, there will always be time to change it later! 😄

What's the length of the included seatpost?  And what's the minimum length that must be inside the seat tube?

I'm 194cm, usually 82cm BB to saddle.  It looks like the seat clamp is 2-3cm from the top tube, so the seat tube of the XL is effectively 52cm - leaving 28-30cm exposed (allowing for the saddle).  Does that leave enough in the seat tube?  Or would I be better with something like the GR201 which has a higher seat tube?

Also, has anyone tried putting a rack on it yet?  (Commuter)

What compression ring did you end up using? I ordered the black one the Kocelvo sells (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808887652005.html) as well as a silver one from the Qiyue store (https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256811740998997.html) along with some spacer shims to (hopefully) make sure some combination will work.

I had some c ring from Winspace handlebar I used. It was 6.5 mm thick and put the 0.5 mm spacer on top. I think the best option would be the one from Kocevlo 7.3 mm.

Hi, yes this is the one.

More rides report and this bike goes fast  Cover closed properly doesn't go off. I went racing yesterday for a 100 km race. I felt comfortable 4 hours in the saddle. I think I could brake 4 hours but I was waiting for my female friend couple times.

Did you have an issue with the painitng on your frame before he sent it?
The reason I ask was because I was onto Mondince during this week looking to buy an FM336 and he said he had some prepainted ones in stock if I could be tempted.
One of them looked very similar to yours , in L, but the paint on the bottom of the fork was a bit 'redder' then the back.As it was a L it was too big otherwise I would have probably bought it!!


Also for those who are using it on the road how are you finding it?
I plan to use mine as primarily as road bike with 40mm road tyres!

Oh so this one is still there. I thought they changed the fork only. Because I requested orange fork without rivets. And the one that came has no rivets and different painting. And look what answer I've got when asked about it😉
Still the painting is not exactly what I wanted. Finnish should be sparkling and it's not. I wonder if this frame has sparkling finnish then 😛

Its defintley a different colour on the forks.
I remarked on the colour difference and he didnt deny it!!

Chinese just want to sell. They will admit failures if you can show to them. Do not expect he is going to tell you all the issues. Also he blamed on his former coworkers, he said not reliable enough but this is an issue in whole china, so I dont blame him back for it.

For me it is very important that before the shipping you guys get a video and a final check of everything before packaging preparation. If not push for it, he wil not have any problem in share it. Also ask for him to check all the screws, he did not check mine and I have a defective one in top tube, I asked back for money and he supported me.
