The two strange things about this design is more the high bottom bracket and very tall seat tube.. 524mm seat tube is aero race bike territory.
The other things is more a like or dislike thing i guess.
But i think more modern geometry usually have steeper seat tube angle, and a bit longer front center. If you add 0.75deg seat tube angle and longer the front 10-15mm to compensate, then you achive longer reach without longer top tube, and at the same time makes (a bit) more room for shortening the chainstays a bit.

IMHO long seat tube and therefore less sloped top tube makes for a gravel frame that aim for bikepacking.
Check the Yoeleo Altera G21, they took the same approach. More space for frame bags, especially for the smaller sizes.
And you see from CX bikes that sloping isn't necessary even for very technical riding.
But Yeoleo went from 72mm bb drop to 79mm bb drop when evolving from the G21 to the Altera G21.

I have a 2021 Giant Revolt adv2. This would replace it.
I have a size L, so bigger. I had a look at the geometry chart for it in a size M and compared. The Mondince has a lower stack, a touch less reach, same bb drop and similar chainstay length. The lower stack is the biggest change. The reach is shorter due to steeper seat angle.
I have a -17  stem on my Revolt due to the high stack.
The bb height I like. I do not want lower on a gravel bike.
25k km on the Revolt. This will be a good replacement. I want the tyre clearance.

Nice catch. Geometry is very similar to the 54cm SuperX. Wondering why you don’t think it makes sense for larger tires?

personal thing i do not like is the seattube length combined with 57mm tires and BB drop will be quite tall standover height, i would appreciete it being at least 15-20mm lower.
The bigger issue is toe overlap, it´s nice that the fork will fit bigger tires, but it´s on the limit of acceptable for me. Compared to my more road oriented seaboard with 40mm, it´s the same clearance. It´s not terrible but i regularly catch my toe on the wheel when riding singletrack or anything slower and more technical. BB height is just another thing copied and not thought about, 70mm drop works fine with 40mm tires, but 57mm? that´s just weird, moving the centre of gravity up, not that it won´t work, it just seems not thought through to me

You guys know way more than I do about all this geometry. It’s like a different language. 1 degree here, 3 mm here, 5cm here. Idk about all that.

I don’t claim to be a smart man but I do know that I’ve ridden a Cannondale SuperX and it rode well. Only reason I didn’t pull the trigger was tire clearance. That was last year before I started diving down the Chinese market rabbit hole.

This geo is essentially the same from what I can see, but with larger tire clearance.

So from my perspective, looks good! Hahaha

I went from 67 bb drop to 79 on the Altera and there's a big difference when cornering. On the 67 (Ican X-gravel) I often had to make small adjustments when in tight turns and it felt like I had to fall into the turn but the Yoeleo feels like it's on rails and gives more confidence to go fast. I'll never go back to 70ish bb drop. But I have a high saddle height and 50mm tires so I guess it amplifies the effect.

That's interesting, I wasn't aware the older models of the Revolt had such  little BB drop. The new model has 81mm.
I'm also used to high BB, riding a Cube Cross Race as garvel bike and racing CX on a Ridely X-Night, and I feel conforable with that, but that's still not the BB drop what I expect from a gravel frame. Somehow ;-)

A gravel should be shorter
But yes, BB drop schould be bigger when mounting fat tires

I would argue the opposite - which is why it's so egregarious.

A longer frame with a shorter stem and so a longer front centre is more stable for riding offroad and so racing offroad - this is what mountain bikes have all move towards - and if this has 57mm clearance, that should be the aim. Look at the last Mondice frame geometry.

A shorter bike is just more comfortable for old/unfit people who have to ride in an upright position.

Yeah... i am an old fat unfit guy... 😂
In the end, it comes down to personal preference.

shit geo. what were they thinking with 67 bb drop on a 57mm clearance frame?
just fix the 336s tire clearance and call it a day

He said they will have another option soon as well. I’ll post the geometry here when they have it.

TT 540 vs 540,4 ( 4mm )
Reach 376,3 vs 382mm ( 5,7mm )
Stack 559,8 vs 549,5 ( 13mm )
Head angle same
Seat angle 73,7 vs 73,9 ( 0,2 degrees)
Only bigger difference is the one that new has
Bb drop 69mm vs 80mm on the fm336 ( 11mm )
In my opinion..
If you're not a racer and like a touch higher position on bike +
Want that extra clearance for rocks to hit your frame..
Get the new one.
All those measurements are so small difference..
Take the measure tool to your hands and look those mm
😁

11mm difference in bb drop is not a small difference

That is a pity that it will have such high seattube(( The frame with big sloping would allow some flex of seatpost and would give more comfort. I don’t understand what will be the diameter of the seatpost - will it be uncomfortable aero seatpost or old good 27,2?

11mm difference in bb drop is not a small difference

Like I said..
If it's NOT for racing.. it's just fine.
1cm more clearance for rocks .. and 1cm higher BB drob is not
That big of a deal.
I would rather chance the seat tube for shorter, so there could be more
Flex , and comfort.
