I’m getting the sense that some people may be overemphasizing the BB drop. It does matter, but it’s only one piece of the overall geometry, and it’s how all the elements work together that really determines how a bike rides. As has been mentioned several times, this is essentially the same geometry as the Cannondale SuperX, which has received excellent reviews. The main difference here is that this frame allows for up to 57mm tires, adding a lot of versatility. I’ve actually ordered one myself and am really excited to build it up. Jack also shared some images and the geo chart, and it looks awesome. PS Jack also mentioned that this has a chainstay protector and downtube protector.

I agree with you. I really like the geometry. It’s aggressive and nearly identical to my Cannondale supersix evo CX, which I have raced on everything from single track to champagne gravel. Didn’t have any issues. I went with the FM296 which is supposed to arrive tomorrow. If I don’t love it, this will be my choice.

I don’t know much about geometry specific to be honest. I’ve have a Cannondale SSE CX and have ridden the SuperX and they definitely feel like aggressive race bikes.

Are comparing the SuperX to a Dutch bike? The SuperX is a fantastic gravel race bike. The BB drop wasn’t very forward thinking from Cannondale. Neither was the tire clearance, but this frame solves the more important issue with adding the ability to clear 2.2 MTB tires.

BB drop matters A LOT when it comes to stability at high speed and how easy it is to achieve this high speed. CX bikes have high BB to make it easier to jump over obstacles at low speeds with 33 mm tire, but this is a disadvantage for high speed cornering on gravel. The way bike corners with high and low BB is very different, and big tires will only exacerbates this difference.
