I've been looking forward to this one since I saw some 3d renders floating around a few months back but these sizes are tiny. I would probably need a frame 2 sizes larger than an XL and I'm not even that tall

Yeah the XL/58 is too small for me too. It has 56.6cm top tube and 53.6cm seat tube. It's not really a 58 it's a small 56. But I have a feeling the will make a XXL frame later.

I’m currently running a 130mm and I can confirm, not the best on gravel but it’s doable.

Why would a longer stem be bad for gravel? In my mind having a bigger lever is better, like mtbs with wide handlebars.

This bike is looking fantastic, but I still agree that +10mm of front center and reach would make it perfect. 74.5°STA and 79mm bb drop for xl also and I would buy it on spot. A Perfect bike.

Because the slacker headtube angle and more trail in gravel bikes already slows the steering / makes it more stable. If you combine that with long stem it might start to feel lazy / unresponsive.

How is the seat tube angle meassured on this bike? If 74 degrees are a strait line from BB to top of seat tube, than the actual STA might be steeper?

Usually in designs like this it is measured from bottom bracket and to a point horizontally from top of head tube. Usually they call it 'effective seat tube angle', while the real angle is steeper in this design.

It's not only that. Longer stem puts your hands further over the front axle, so it's easier to endo the bike in rocky/rough/steep terrain. And when you are pulling on the bars to lift the front end over rocks/logs, the long stem pushes the bars further to one side when there's a slight asymmetry to the handlebar pull. Which really amplifies the  amount the wheel turns off center. First time I did that on my 130mm stem gravel bike, I almost turned the wheel to 90 degrees while it was in the air, barely got it straight enough before the wheel came down. And I spend a lot of time riding MTBs in really hairy technical terrain.

Hands and weight over the front axle = more grip for the front tyre. If you're a Hubbard then I can imagine being worried about 'endo'ing a bike, but this is an aero racing frame?

Reach is most interesting when sprinting or climbing, ie generally when standing up. When sitting on the saddle, then top tube length is the more important measurement.
But generally seat tube angle and saddle position is most important so you get a good position towards the pedals/cranks. So you don't kind of pedal forward, but rather downwards. Then when you know your approx ideal seat tube angle it is usually easy to calculate approx what total reach you want/need. And i usually think toptube+stem+handlebar reach. In my case i run 551+70+77=698. This is not really 100% true, since with a steeper seat tube angle i may back up the saddle more, which would mean that same top tube length would equal to longer total reach.
My bike today does have 73.5deg seat tube angle with zero offset seatpost and saddle slammed all the way forward. To get kind of optimal position without slamming it forward i would need at least around 74.5-75deg angle. Different saddles have different rail positions also, so another saddle would be possible to move more forward than the one i use today - but the one i use is easily best for my butt today 😅

The geometry on this LCR73 looks very promising for racing. Since Rolle2k was mentioning wide tires, I wonder if a flared integrated cockpit would complete the aero/gravel look. I found this Avian Canary https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005005902791911.html which has a 360mm option that could fit the racing purpose of this frame perfectly. Do you think the internal routing of the LCR73 will be compatible with standard ACR/FSA headsets or is it a proprietary system?

They will release a gravel specific FLARED integrated cockpit with their new aero gravel frame, don’t worry. Same as their awesome road versions but flared. So around 300g and hopefully down to 36cm.

Yer ive got no problems running 130mm stem on my Giant Revolt.

I also agree the reach is too short on this bike by a little.

Lightcarbon does have both these in their latest PDF catalogue...
HBR18 seems to be the more flared, less drop version of their HBR17 which was standard bar for LCR018-D (allroad endurance frame).
