Putting “high quality” and “counterfeit” in the same sentence is already a bit questionable…
Look, I’ve got an X68. At first glance it looks great — the carbon inside the head tube and bottom bracket area appears smooth, the paint finish is tidy, and overall it gives the impression of quality.
But looking “quality” doesn’t mean it is quality.
What really matters is what you can’t see — the carbon layup, the presence of internal voids, the resin system used, the grade of materials, and the level of quality control during manufacturing. That’s where the real difference lies.
And then there’s accountability. If something does go wrong, a counterfeit might come with a two-year “guarantee,” but the real question is whether they’ll actually honour it, this is always a hot topic of conversation on the forums.
I was interested so I contacted one of these sellers and yes one is already taking pre orders! Crazy.
