3 Frames I want to purchase this year.
« on: June 11, 2026, 07:46:38 PM »
I am looking to upgrade/replace 2 of my frame with new frames, and start a new bike build this fall.

The 2 frames I am thinking of replacing are my Spcycle M05 29er hardtail and my Seraph GR-029.  Both of these frame have held up very well over the years.  (I want to be able to fit larger tires on my next gravel frame.)

The first frame I am thinking of replacing is the Seraph frame with a Spcycle G028      Anybody think I shouldn't do this?   (I would still love to see a boost carbon gravel frame.)

The second frame to replace my SP-M05 is the new Spcycle SP-M038.   Thoughts?   I really have liked my M05 over the past 4 years.

The third is to build up a 32er bike: Therefore purchase a Tideace FM-XC832,and build up a 32er to see if I like the new trend.   Thoughts?

The 32er option is interesting ;). Curious to hear how it rolls once you've got it together. That wheel size seems to make the most sense for really chunky terrain...

Looks like people are starting to get their G028 frames, and it seems promising. Mondince is also releasing some higher clearance gravel frames that are worth a look.

What's your reason for replacing the SP05? Lighter weight frame with the SP038? My main concern with it is the seeming lack of cable ports which would force you to run everything through the headset.

Interested to hear what you think of the 32er if you end up getting it!

I purchased my SP-M05 in November 2021.  By the end of this year, it will have 5 years of abusive riding on it.   Historically,  I have replaced my MTB carbon frames after 5 years of riding.    I replace frames for many reasons.  Typically, there are enough improvements/features in the next generation frames to merit replacing an older frame.  (Of just for the fun of riding an updated bike.)  I still need to study the SP028 more.  I am not into the complete internal cable routing fad, but with electric shifting, these days, there are only 2 lines to route anyways - Rear brake, and dropper post.

I'd go with the G028, and the 57 wheel size is interesting. I'd do a monster gravel project.
If you wait, some interesting deals pop up on AliExpress every now and then. https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005012261048037.html
