How does everyone find the standover, currently comparing a small to a small Canyon Aeroad and on geometry geeks its showing the standover at 62mm higher. This seems a lot for a frame when the seat tube (centre to top) is 62mm lower. I'm wondering if some of the numbers are incorrect?

Thanks

I asked "Jack" this several times some time ago. He insisted they are correct and that I shouldn't ask no more. I may only guess they measure it near the head tube - rather than commit to pure fantasy numbers.

In their charts, they measure stand-over from the ground to the height of the top of the head tube.

Assuming size M and 55 mm gravel tires:
Wheel radius = 622/2 = 366 mm
Tire height = 55 mm (will depend on the tire, of course)

Standover height as defined by Mondince = Total tire radius - BB drop + Stack

For a size M, that is (366 + 55) - 80 + 574 = 860.

In their charts they say 863, so I'd say that's close enough.

The thing is that most manufacturers don't measure stand-over height at the top of the headtube, but somewhere in the middle of the top tube. When the top tube has sloping (as it's the case here), the real stand-over height is quite a lot lower. In the middle of the top tube it'll be somewhere around 800 mm

Yup mostly due to the slope. White is Canyon

I will post here as well, since I received a question about my size choice, and the messaging reply does not seem to work.
I am 181, with saddle set to 760 mm top of the saddle center measured to CC BB.
I had a Carbonda 696 size 56 before and usually ride 56 frames.

I went with large due to a few reasons:
- correaponds with Canyons geo for a size M which Canyon recomnends for me
- I runt a 0 setback post and 0 spacers with a narrow handlebar to have a more relaxed aero position. So I am quite forward oriented which puts me more in the center of the bike (higher stack but narrow position with hips rolled forward)
- I will use it for bikepacking as well and wanted to try the larger wheelbase for more stability.

Currently running a 90 mm stem and 36 cm bars CC across the hoods. Will switch to a 38 eventually once it comes back into stock.

Standover is no issue, but yes bike definitely feels longer than my previous bike but I think I will get used to it rather quickly. (only done three rides and not final setup yet.)

Jack has sent me a video of my frame.

Size small, pearl white with raw carbon.

I ordered in mid august but I had messed up the payment so that only went through in September. AFAIK size small are one of the last to be made so I was expecting a long wait but I stayed patient  ;D, there was a lot of "ready next week" from Jack but we got there in the end!

I don't really understand why the bottle cage has been positioned so high on the frame. Personally, I find it quite disappointing, as I often use a frame bag.

It seems like it should be fairly straightforward to mount the bottle cage on the storage compartment cover instead.

To be honest, this design choice is one of the reasons why I decided not to purchase the frame. Had the bottle cage been positioned differently, I would likely have bought it.

Was there a specific design reason or consideration behind this decision?

I think it was because some of the previous frames had issues with the weight of the bottle causing the door to become loose over time.

Have you seen the fm356? That has bolts on the door and has it mounted low on the down tube.

Yes, but very short reach and high stack.

Adding significant weight to the door means it's more likely to rattle or come open. As long as there's physically enough room to fit both I'll never buy another frame with the bottle mounted on the storage door.

The FM346 has the same geo as FM376 with the bottle mounted on the storage cover.

Finnished my build today.

2.35” burts on 25mm rims~58mm. Will change rims to 32mm internal ones to get 60mm width.

So far everything good, happy with quality.

what brand/model is the handlebar you are using?
