Daniel offered to send the frame anyway and give me a small refund if I didn't like it in person. I accepted because it still looked great in the photos, and he said the finish looks even better in real life. He was right, it really shines in person.

The paint looks awesome! What kind of painting is it?

Quote from: alexgaignard on October 29, 2026, 12:48:53 PMFinally got mine built! The ordering and shipping took a while, but the result was worth the wait.

I ordered from Light Cycling on August 28 because I wanted a custom paint job and really liked their paint options. It arrived on October 21, so almost 2 months from order to delivery. I paid $960 total for the frame, paint and shipping.

Paint: There was a small hiccup during painting. I'd asked for Pantone 2645 C, but the purple in the photos came out a lot darker. Daniel offered to send the frame anyway and give me a small refund if I didn't like it in person. I accepted because it still looked great in the photos, and he said the finish looks even better in real life. He was right, it really shines in person.

Build notes: Not perfect, but pretty smooth overall. A few things to watch out for:
- After dry-fitting the fork to mark the steerer cut, the top bearing wouldn't come out. I had to tap it out with a mallet and a pick. It works fine now, but the bearing fit is pretty tight.
- One of the front caliper mount threads must have gotten some paint in it. It was really stiff, but it went in with some patience and force.
- Minor paint flaw near the UDH bolt. You'd only notice it up close.
- The stock seatpost clamp bolt rounded before reaching the 8 Nm spec printed on the clamp. I swapped it for a steel bolt and have had no slippage since.

Everything else was good. The BB threaded in by hand, and the caliper mounts are faced properly (no rubbing, at least).

Build list:
- Wheels: Tagoola, 32 mm internal, 50 mm deep, 1400 g (can't remember the exact model)
- Tires: Dubnital 2.2 trail casing for winter, might go faster for summer
- Crankset: RPANTAHI 160 mm
- Power meter: Thinkrider PP5 (still testing, I think it reads a bit high)
- Chainring: Pass Quest 42T
- Bar: Uno Gravel 380 mm
- Stem: random 100 mm -10° from my parts bin
- Shifters: Ultegra Di2
- RD: Shimano RX827
- Calipers: Zrace XG. I might replace these. Bleeding them is awful and the braking doesn't feel great.
- BB: BikeOne

First impressions: The 2.2" tires are really comfortable. It's hard to judge the frame yet, since I sold my last gravel bike about 3 months ago and have mostly been riding road since. My old frame maxed out at 40 mm tires, so this feels like a different world.

What model is this from Lightcycle?

I just asked for the FM376, don't know if they officially carry it under their own name

Would anyone be able to advise on what the seatpost clamp torque spec is? Had a little slippage on my first ride but assuming that's just me under-torquing it

8NM was written all over mine

Don't forget the grip paste as well!

Thanks everyone for the info in this thread, I received my frame last Wednesday after a few of the usual delays and finished my build on Friday.

Frame weight is 1493g plus 540g for the fork. The overall build weighs 9.2kg including pedals and bottle cages.

The frame looks good, brake mounts and bottom bearing seats had no paint and no alignment issues. The fork looked fine as well. The only minor issues were:
  • the headset parts seem to be somewhat non-standard and the FSA compatible headset top cover that came with my cockpit didn't fit at all. I designed and 3D-printed a top cap that has pockets for those three non-symmetric protrusions of the sealing ring and replaces the uppermost part of the headset that comes with the frame. Works like a charm.
  • the mounting points on the seatstays were not fully covered with paint and silver/aluminium was visible even with screws in them. Fixed it easily with some black nail polish

And this is the full build spec:

  • Frame: Mondince FM376 XL, UD matte (incl. zero-offset seatpost)
  • Wheels: CSC DLR 5.0 (32mm internal / 41mm external / 50mm depth), with ZTTO 36T hardened steel ratchet (because the stock ones seem to desintegrate easily)
  • Cockpit: Kreuza Apex GR 385/130
  • Groupset: Shimano GRX Di2 RX827 (1x12, wireless), 44t T.A. Specialites chainring, 4iii left-side powermeter
  • Bottom bracket: Miche T47 IC XL 24
  • Tires: Continental Dubnital 2.2", 56mm measured, plenty of clearance
  • Saddle: Ryet non-3d printed (don't want dirt in the mesh)

Looks great. Interested in hearing how it rides after a couple of weeks. The weight, especially the frame weight, is holding me back currently.

What's included in the 1493g – is it just the frame or all the parts (thru-axles, UDH, seat post clamp, headset, ...) + seat post as well?

I looked at a picture on the scale again. I did include the rear axle, the front derailleur mount bracket, the UDH but not the seat post, seat post clamp or headset.

That's how the frame came in the box and I put it straight on the scale - otherwise i would have started building it up immediately. Subtract a few grams as i left the that little pipe on there they put around the axles to prevent the rear triangle from getting squeezed during shipping.

PS: The frame came with a cover plate for the front deraillleur mount in case you want to go 1x - pretty nice.

Did it also came with a rubber seal to prevent dust/sand coming into the seatpost? I checked my box and plastic bags but can't find it.

Yes, my package included a silicone seal/collar.
I also 3d-printed a TPU plug for the seatpost clamp screw hole underneath though.

Shellstrom

I got a plastic plug to cover the clamp screw included in one of the plastic bags as well as the seat post seal.

Looks great, what's your saddle height on the XL frame? I'm wondering if I will have similar amount of visible seatpost. I'm using 82,5cm from bb to top of saddle. My frame is almost here.
