Title: Positive angled integrated handlebars.
Post by: Vasegaard on August 02, 2025, 02:19:25 AM
Hello dear community.
Longtime reader, first time poster.

I have been cycling for a while on an older Sage Carbon from Radon.
It’s time for a change and Ive been eyeing LongTeng (ltk 266 D-SL , 301, 268) and XM Carbon Speed and Speeder.

I sort of need a relatively high stack due to back problems and with these Chinese profiles they sometimes come short. After watching TDF and the Y1RS and cervelo S5 have positive angles integrated handlebars I thought they might be a good idea to add stack.

Does anyone know any Chinese sellers who produce these types?

It will be difficult to find handlebars with a positive angle.
What does exist are integrated handlebars where the bars are uplifted, i.e.:
Onan HBR16: https://www.ornanbike.com/ultralight-aero-road-handlebars-295g-eps-with-one-piece-molding-tech_p189.html (https://www.ornanbike.com/ultralight-aero-road-handlebars-295g-eps-with-one-piece-molding-tech_p189.html)
T4 Ultra: https://aliexpi.com/5XcF (https://aliexpi.com/5XcF)

These don't have a steep angle and will give you an additional 5-10mm rise compared to the standard cockpits. Also, in general I noticed the real stem angle of integrated handlebars is a lot steeper than advertised when compared to separate stems. This is valid for asian (i.e. Ryet) as wel as western brands (i.e.speci roval).

On a side note, I would be looking for bike frames that naturally have already a lot of stack like the endurance and allroad/gravel frames.

Nice find.  I'm sure I've seen those upswept bars somewhere else but can't recall.

Any experience with Ornan stuff, it looks like they're an actual OEM factory.

Thanks!

A friend of has a set of mtb wheels he abuses in the downhills and they are still intact. I beleive Ornan focuses on wheels/rims and components, but indeed with a bigger focus on OEM. So I expect they have good quality products and know what they are doing.

Ridley Noah Fast 3.0 has also positive angle for the cockpit. But I haven't seen anything from east.

Hi,
I was also looking for some positive angle integrated handlebar, but I'm afraid, that they marked it wrongly on the website. If you check below, in specification, you can find -8 angle. Also, on a drawing you can clearly see that this is negative, not positive angle.

Not from Ali, but you can also buy a cockpit from rose (for backroad ff). I think the negative 10° stem and the (positive) rise of the bar equals to a 0° stem. If this is worth the money... (but I like the looks of it).

Remarkably similar but a few immediately obvious differences:
1. The ornan uses a (superior in my view) barrel nut arrangement.
2. The mounts attachment seems different

.... otherwise identical?

Great catch! I believe this is for their new aero bike which has an insane low stack.  To fit on other bikes, I would say it has too much rise. If someone could make a similar handlebar with around 3-4cm of rise, that would be great.

Another interesting option might be to use the angled shims from a (dirt cheap) specialized multi comp stem on, say, a Farsports, EXS, etcm 1-1/4 bar.

https://www.specialized.com/gb/en/comp-multi-stem/p/156570?color=228546-156570

"Equipped with top cap and 4-degree, 2-degree, and 0-degree shims."

I have these bars on my X68. I love them and they look clean af. The bars themselves aren't very heavy but the wedge that applies force to the steerer tube is a good chunky boi. They tighten up my headset perfectly and have not had any issues. I believe Pinarello uses the same mount style.

Do you preload the bearing with a separate top cap first?  I can't see how else that works...

I bought the actual Rose gravel cockpit because I couldn’t find a good alternative.

Thing is.. it comes without set of spacers and everything else :(. Just a handlebar and plastic top cap…

Any suggestions on Ali parts that I should order to make this work?

They remind me of Y1RS bars, I think they'd look great on a bike with a recessed head tube like the Y1RS, S5 or the Noah Fast 3.0... On a regular skinny bike it just looks off, I agree with you.

It's available on their Ali product page. The first of their product pictures is a video showing how to assemble the headset components and cockpit. Unfortunately I couldn't find any torque spec but I suspect if one was to ask the seller they would provide this info or maybe it comes with printed assembly instructions?

Bumping this one, have there been any news from Onirii about an international release of that handlebar?

Something like the Simplon Pride II comes with an almost 600g heavy 2 piece stem + handlebar combo, but also fits every normal handlebar. Looking at the geometry another raiser handlebar would be a perfect fit and with the Onirii one you could knock a good 250g off the overall weight with this one.

Tavelo should come in January with a 20mm rise cockpit according to Joe from PandaPodium.
I copied the some pics from the WeightWeenies forum below.
For me it will be the right amount of additional rise, but I will wait untill I see some real life measurements and reviews.

Onirii told me this:
"This model requires custom spacers (for certain frame models), which is quite troublesome. Therefore, we are not considering overseas sales at this time."
I was mainly asking because that would knock almost 300g of a 2nd hand Simplon Pride (compatible with normal FSA stems). When asking about Costum spacers and potential compatability they actually posted a picture of the Velobuild VB-R-368 Aerotrace, so now I'm asking them if it would be compatible with that frame, long and high stack to the max!

No, when i asked about it potentially fitting the Simplon Pride 2 that can fit every conventional FSA handlebar and mentioned the later fact they responded:
"I understand, friend. Can you give me a clear photo of this part in the picture so that I can better confirm it for you"

End of November / beginning of December Onirii told me via AliExpress that they are selling the HB02 as universal lift handlebar.
Price incl. shipping was mentioned as 230 US$ and the option of customized additional spacers (printed?) for 15 US$.
I would suggest to contact them via AliExpress to discus for the HB02.

I have ordered and will test the Ullicyc T4 Ultra with the rise at the hoods - let's see...

They looked nice until I saw photo of their profile - 2cm rise and then you lose 0.5-1cm by being forced to mount the hoods further down on the bar... And make the whole setup super non-ergonomic by having your palm "slide" on the curved part of the bar when it hits the hood, since there is no smooth transition bar/hood. I hate this kind of shape, sadly many chinese bars haven't figured this out (compared to more known brands)

This will not meet the OP's needs but I post this because I like the direction where this is heading. This "riser" handlebar adds 2cm to the stack but they have incorporated this in such a way where it's almost undetectable to the naked eye. With a 10 deg stem angle, it's clearly marketed for riders who still like that aggressive look but need that little bit of extra stack. Better if it was 6 deg.

Yeah, I’ve been looking at these riser-style 20 mm rise bars as well. Obviously, the Tavelo Rise bars — I’ve heard they’re going to be released around the end of March or beginning of April now — are about $300 USD. They obviously look very similar to the sort of older Venge ViAS bar style of handlebar.

And then you’ve also got the Incolor Aero Wave bar, which has popped up for sale this week. I actually ordered a set of those yesterday. I’m going to use those on my Quick Pro build. Obviously the design isn’t 100% the same, but it’s very similar to the EXS bar. Plus it’s a more traditional looking bar, which I prefer.

I’m not too sure if I’m quite sold on these radical looking sort of Tavelo-type riser bars yet — I’m sure that would change if I saw a set in person — but for the minute I’m going for the more traditional Incolor bar, where you can’t quite see the 20 mm rise, which is pretty clever.

Here is a very good looking option by XMCS, adding 25 mm of stack

Photo’s of the (3d printed) Road Riser posted in the XMCS thread on the new frames. Separate Gravel riser bars photo’s posted in the gravel thread.

Gravel ones below for reference. Difference with Road Riser:

72 reach vs 78
+90mm flare +25mm flare
105 drop vs 123 drop
8deg neg stem angle vs 10deg neg stem angle

‘Rise’ or ‘extra stack’ on both 25mm.

What price will there be for riser aero bar? Also is there standard 56mm headset mount w spacers and computer mount included?

Price is USD 330. Mount: Peter and team working on a very nice one, didn’t hear the price yet. I expect standard top caps to be included, but details tbc.

Has anyone been able to find a handle bar similar to the new Merida Reacto gullwing bar and stem? It is listed as the CW 1P and is made by vision but I have not been able to find anything similar online.  It is quite new and I think stuff should show up eventually.

The closest thing I could find is this Syncross handlebar https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005011842334673.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c2QybLJZ)

It actually came from the Merida one, so I think it's a matter of months, the trend is the same.

Looks like a copy of Colnago Y1RS handlebars
IMO more like a Bianchi Oltre handlebar done right (besides the oversized Garmin mount)

The newly announced LCR020 features a riser handlebar, given their frame pricing I think the handlebar should also be on the relatively cheaper side.

They also just told me that the handlebar is compatible with the Avenger Shuttle. Would solve the rather low low stack problem with the size 56 of that bike (they are working on a zero offset seatpost too)

The dream would be to gurn a bianchi aquila rc win a uncut fork into a road bike with this one. It would fit, you'd just need some 3d printed spacers to fill up the gap between handlebars and top tube.

Just picked up two Onirii RH ONE integrated handlebars (110mm and 120mm) from TAOBAO. They include standard round headset covers for both internal and external routing, though you can custom-order 3D-printed ones for specific bike models.

The Good: Lightweight, comes with gold Ti bolts, and features a huge rise. It’s a lifesaver if your frame is sized down and you need more stack height.

The Bad: There is some noticeable flex, particularly in the drops. Heavy, high-power riders might find it lacks stiffness.

Verdict: That same flex combined with the rise makes for an incredibly comfortable and forgiving ride.

the right LLM should be able to hold your hand throughout the process, if you're eligible in the first place.
