CC700 Pro:

Assume this is a Magene C606 rebrand, perhaps the Pro is the same as the C606 and then then regular CC700 is the same but without a touch screen and no full mapping? Haven't dug too deeply on this yet.
-
The pro has a replaceable mount which the c606 doesn't have. Although in all my years of cycling I have never snapped the mount.
-
Magene isn't selling as many C606s as they expected so instead of fixing software they are gradually dropping the price. Understandable but I don't miss mine whatsoever
-
i added it to my cart yesterday when I saw this post.
It was on early bird pricing at $119 CAD.
around 7PM last night, i saw the price went down further to $98 CAD for some reason
ended up buying it for $85 CAD + 1 item to get the coupon and coins discount.
Not bad for the price I guess, since I'm looking for an alternative to my aging lezyne mega XL GPS
-
It’s also with 23% discount in coins, ended up paying USD77

IMO If you have cc600 it’s not really worth upgrading. Except map navigation there are not many changes and for navi id rather go for something much better e.g. igpsport not to upgrade again in a year or two.
-
How does this compare to a Bolt V2? Silly question, but I'm interested in this for the future when I build up my gravel bike.

I mostly upgraded because my 7yo son wanted one so he will get my hand me down :D

Hello.
Any one received and can give feedback? Is it the same as magene c606? Does it have climbpro?
I have seen mixed reviews of the c606, but with the geoid price I'm tempted.
-
I purchased CC700 pro. I'll write again when it arrives.
-
i have the cc600 for tt for basic power data etc - small form factor and does what i need.
looking to replace a bryton rider 750 and also looking at the cc700pro.
how easy is it to upload gpx files for gravel would be my main query etc.
hope it works out for you!
-
Looking to replace my wife's IGSport but this one again doesnt have a climber display. I was hoping the PRO would have it.

Hello, I'm looking ac cc700 pro to have a compacrt but still visible device on the stem of my gravel and mtb bike.
Is Geoid a reliable company? Someone has some of their products?
Do you know if the cc700pro is ok for follow a preloaded gpx route for off-road use? Which maps do it use (open mtb map with fire road, single track,...)?
thanks

Mine arrived yesterday — I got the CC700 Pro.
It came with everything: the basic mounts, charger, lanyard, screen protector, plus the out-front mount I added to the package.
I didn’t expect it to be bigger than what I had in mind, but that’s actually a plus.
The touchscreen is quite responsive, though the screen quality is just okay (TFT). Initial setup was a breeze, and it paired right away with the Onelap Fit app. It was already up to date with the latest firmware and also paired easily with my speed/cadence and heart rate sensors.
It looks premium overall — the body feels solid and well made — though I’ll likely get the rubber sleeve for extra protection.
The buttons feel tactile and responsive. That said, I’m not a fan of the USB-C port cover; it feels a bit brittle and seems like it could be the first thing to break. It’s also very easy to open, and I wouldn’t fully trust the rubber gasket alone for water protection.
The rear mount is screwed in and can be removed or replaced. It appears to be plastic, but it’s thick and feels durable enough to last a long time, and it should be easy to replace if it ever breaks.
I haven’t tested the features yet since it’s winter here in Canada and I’m mostly stuck on Zwift for now, but I’ll check the indoor features as well to see how useful they are.

great stuff!
keen to know how easy/difficult it is to get a gpx file onto it and ride navigation on said file.
thanks

it is pretty easy to import a gpx file onto the OneLap fit app > then gets pushed to the paired unit
manual route creation through the app works too but pretty basic where you drop pins to set the route. this gets pushed/synced to the unit as well when done

Can i ask you if you can post some images of maps for off-road use when you will test it?
For imported gpx files is possible to have on the device a sort of archive, folders with several files and have my database or do I need to import only one gpx at time?
thanks
-
Hi,
about to pull the trigger and cannot find the pro anywhere.
sold out?
thanks
J

Received mine last night, set up was a breeze, i quite like the form factor. Touch screen is hyper sensitive, constrastbvery good, need to test on a Sunny day.

Weird, it works for me :/

Yep works for me too, bought this https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005010721301448.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3jkz7Ox) we see how it goes

hey sorry but I won't be able to test the maps for a long time since it is still winter season here in Canada.
Regarding your second question - the unit has 8gb of storage per the spec sheet. it did allow me to download a full canada map from the unit itself, bring the 'storage capacity' from 97% initially down to 91%, so I'm pretty sure you can load up several gpx file and keep them stored on the unit as long as there's storage left.

Can anyone tell me if this unit can control music on your phone? Just want some sort of pause/skip function. That is the only thing I don't have on my Garmin 1030+, and really want, but not willing to upgrade $300-$400 for a 1040 or 1050 just for this feature.

unfortunately, no.
I'm attaching the manual i got from the AE posting where I bought it from.
-
are you able to load workout files onto the computer? such as .fit/.mrc ?
-
mine on the way from amazon germany next week
looking forward to it.
-
Hi All,
Anyone get and follow a route on this yet?
Whats the experience like?
hopefully it picks up trails in western ireland,as hoping to use for gravel.
thanks
J
-
I was expecting cc700pro from amazon Germany - but they managed to lose it.
Refund and reorder and hopefully get it next Wednesday.
i hope so as sold Bryton rider 750 within 3 days so i am down to cc600 only atm.
-
Received cc700pro in hand today, ordered Wednesday- pretty good from amazon.de to Ireland
So far impressed with a 90€ Colour touch screen bike computer.
Uploaded a few routes/gpx files and keen to try it IRL.
Can upload from Strava but i found handiest is to add gpx files to google drive folder and add that folder as a shared/starred folder.
Search for same folder on phone and pull in routes that way and push to unit.
strangely unit doesn't show up on pc when connected via cable.
now to get silicone case.
ordered a magene c606 case
-
Where do you guys get maps from?
-
previous route gpx uploaded from strava etc.
there should be maps already installed for your location,no?
sorry, figured it out as i was in same boat
unit doesnt come with maps installed
you got to manually download them
found what you're after

Bike Computer Map Downloads: Connect the bike computer to Wi-Fi. Navigate to Settings > File Management, tap the '+' icon, and select the desired map for download.
Europe A - I imagine in for Ireland
and
Spain - as I am heading to Calpe in April
slow enough download to unit - or maybe its my wifi!
turn BT off on unit to speed up maps DL!
-
Thanks a lot for all the info!
-
is unit showing up when plugged into computer for anyone?
reached out to geoid got this response
"please use a smartphone Type-C data cable to connect to your computer. The cable included with the product is for charging only and does not support data transfer."
tried a "data" cable and nada also!

Good morning everyone, I have a friend's Geoid CC700 Pro (mine has yet to arrive). When I try to download the map of Italy, it reaches 99% and then gives me a download failed error. The same thing happens with the map of France.
Firmware updated to the latest version.
Has anyone had the same problem?
Bye and thanks
P.S. if i download a little map as San Marino or Switzerland i can download it without troubles

try restarting and redownload maybe?
if possible, break it down to multiple smaller areas rather than one big map? I haven't played around with it so much but i can recall you can download maps either from the unit itself or through the app

The Italian map can't be split and can only be downloaded from the Geoid device, not from the app.
I've tried restarting several times, resetting, factory resetting, etc., but nothing changes. It gets to 99% and then says download failed.
-
tried ireland and spain and both worked no issues about a month ago.
takes some time even for those!
will try another now.
possibly a note to geoid support.
-
I wrote to support, providing the data and logs, let's hope for the best
-
Geoid support was fantastic. I sent them the information this morning and they solved the problem shortly thereafter. I downloaded all the maps I needed: Italy, France, Switzerland, and San Marino.
-
Good to know
They seem to be promising some updates - unsure what though!
-
Probably the feature taken out from the magene version
-
Hey!
Quick question about your GEOID CC700 Pro : do you use structured workouts on it? Like, can you create a session with intervals (e.g. 30s at 250W, then 30s recovery, repeated X times), and does the device actually guide you through each step showing something like "Interval 3/10 — target: 250W" ?
Once the training has ended, can it me synced with Garmin Connect?
Thank you.
-
So what's the verdict on this one? How's the CC700 / CC700 Pro compare?

everything works except for the lackluster navigation (it is crap) but I got it (CC700 Pro) for cheap so I'm not complaining.
If we ever get a climbpro-like feature, then I'm really sold!
I'm just waiting on the next Coros Dura (if that's even coming) and I still have my lezyne mega xl gps (40 hrs solid battery) but the geoid cc700 pro will do for now.

Can I ask whats bad about the navigation?
Is it sluggish? How does the screen update woensdag navigating?
I”m about to buy a cc700pro, mainly for navigation but you made me doubt.
Is the screen fluid like a recent smartphone does while navigating?

A couple of irritating things: if you import a route in FIT/GPX format it discards all of the POI's, so you lose your turn information along with cafe stops, audax/sportive check-points etc. It then generates its own turn directions, but these include lots of false turns - basically any 90 degree bend in the road - which are a distraction for when it pops up a real turn. Also there's a big lag whenever you page through your screens to the navigation page, which can cause you to swipe or hit the Page button again and skip past it. And once you're back on the map/navigation screen it takes a couple of seconds to redraw your position and route. It's fine if you just stay on the map page. One nice thing: It will automatically zoom in as you approach a turn. It's not terrible for the modest price, but by any other standard the overall experience is mediocre. I'm ok using it on roads that I'm familiar with, where I might just need an occasional reminder. I'm not so sure about using it on unfamillar roads and routes - there'll be some missed turns and stops to consult the phone.

this feedback should be sent to geoid i think!

First time post here but hoping folks from Magene/GeoID are reading along.
Overall, the value for money is good for this device. The screen brightness is good, customization of data screens works quite intuitive and the device feels solid. I had no issues pairing with my phone. It also works with my Coospo radar.
The software is somewhat limited though and requires work. For example:
1. It is not possible to customize HR zones. It can calculate HR zones based on max. HR or lactate threshold but doesn’t allow to customize like other parties do.
2. The map doesn’t show all the cycling paths, even when these are shown on any other map that you check.
3. Even when cycling on a 100% flat surface, the device constantly indicates between -0.3 and +0.3 gradient.
4. It fails to calculate an alternative route when going off-track. The device gives a notification it is doing recalculations (when being connected to the app) but fails to create an alternative.
5. It doesn't allow for custom notifications. I was used to an old Wahoo elemnt bolt v1 and even on that device I could set a drink or eat reminder every X minutes. On the GEOID, this isn't possible.
Overall, it it is nice device at this price point, however, it could be much better with a few additions/improvements.
-
thinking of selling mine as it just isnt polished enough-
its a solid 5-6/10 but need a touch more for gravel navigation and other units for not much more money have climb pro and strava segments etc.
took a punt on it and not expecting Garmin level of polish but tbh i may go to buy a magene c606v2 or bryton s510 (had 750 previously) as like the way you can
Plug it into PC and drag and drop files into it
long press a metric and change on the fly etc
gonna give it a second chance- brining it to calpe for a week.
if you dont hear from me then you know its poor, lol!
-
Just back from Calpe,Spain after 6 days cycling and it performed better than expected tbh.
Mates sent gpx file from RWGPS and downloaded to phone, pushed to unit and away i went.
elevation data would be great to have - but you cannot have everything.
-
After a few more rides with the CC700 Pro I’m still a bit undecided for the price it’s solid, but navigation can be a bit hit and miss.
Out of curiosity, has anyone compared it with a Bryton https://it.aliexpress.com/item/1005011873457686.html (https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_c3Zfx4G1)? On paper seems a bit more polished on navigation and integrations, but not sure if it’s worth the price difference in real use.
Main thing for me is reliable GPX and rerouting
-
s810 is brytons flagship unit- not comparable at all tbh imho
i was looking at 650 as a direct replacement for gravel navigation- need it up the hills!
-
sold mine
went for bryton 650 for 134€
had 750 previously and liked their editability on the go.
used to their ecosystem
-
Looking to see if anyone has some longer term use reviews and whether or not this is still worth buying.
Thanks
