Hello
I'm looking for an integrated handlebar with a bit of raise. The steering tube of my bike is cut a bit too short, and I want to raise the handlebar with minimum 20, ideally 25-30mm.
Up to now, this seems to be the best contender
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005012825351497.html
because
- I have Shimano 105 mechanic, 12 speed, and this one allow for internal routing for 4 cables (two for brakes, two for shifters)
- It's a 20mm raise, 70mm reach, 110 drop, -7degrees. The small reach and small drop are a plus for me. I've found designs similar to Tavelo, with 25mm raise, but -10 degrees, 77mm reach, 123mm drops (for instance, XMCS) - the raise is basically almost canceled by the angle and the reach.
- I need an 9 cm stem, 38 cm top, and a bit of flare (3-4 cm)
Questions:
1. Any feedback about the handlebar that I've found? Any real experiences with this brand - YICHORD (sounds like a weird jazz chord to me :) ) ?
2. Can you propose me alternatives along the lines of what I need (ideally: integrated, 25-30 mm raise, -7 degrees, 70 reach, 110 drops, 3-4 cm flare, for a size 380/90mm, compatible with internal routing)?
Thank you all
- Could you purchase a new fork?
- There are fork tube extenders , but they add weight and likely don't work with new cable routing systems.
A new fork might be easiest in the long run, versus hoping to find a one-off integrated handlebar.
the height difference between -7 degrees and -10 degrees for that short of a stem is only 5mm. the Tavelo with a 25mm rise but -10 degrees is effectively the same height as the aliX bar with 20mm rise and -7 degrees.
These bars are basically LIGHTCARBON's HBR017
HBR17 is similar to those aliexpress bars but they have less rise and are much lighter. Also the shape is a bit more round. I like the looks of the HBR17 more it doesn't have that sharp rear edge on the tops. If it had more rise it would be great.
The xmcs road riser bar is almost perfect but I think they might be even heavier than those aliexpress bars. I think they would of been plenty stiff with 40-50g less weight.
Looks similar to Ullicyc T4 Ultra, I am running the T4 cockpit on two bikes and I am very happy with it.
Noticed Hudud started selling it as HB071, but I have not came across Yichord.
They all look similar to the Lightcarbon HBR017 but there seem to be differences as pointed out by other forum contributors.
There's a new RPANTAHI Riser handlebar: https://www.instagram.com/p/DckQf1-khwe/?img_index=1
A seller on AliExpress said it will be available mid September on AE ... let's see. Looking very promising.

I'm very nice, this is really cool....
I know nothing about this brand, lacks in the aesthetics department, but it's integrated with 30mm of rise: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256812977664786.html?
Just came across the Ullicyc T5 on AliExpress

Something tells me it's no longer available because they broke and / or were soft AF. the design doesnt make sense, i'd want to see a bar closing the triangle.

The fact they didn't do a 36 but are still making 42 is baffling to me.
They're probably not producing it too tightly because there wouldn't be enough room to get their hands on it.
They should modify the moulds with a narrower V shape (my deduction)

Can you explain yourself? It looks right now they are available in most of the sizes. I guess its a new design, and the statement is more: they were not yet available rather than they were no longer available.

This isn't raised; it just has a Y-shape, but if you look closely at the technical drawing and the profile, you can see that it isn't raised.

If you look closer you'll see 20mm lift.

That's what they say, but pay attention to the downward angle of the stem.
The stem is angled sharply downwards, effectively cancelling out the rise of the handlebar.
Compared to other riser bars, this one seems the least effective to me.

Wild that anyone would pay that much for a twitter handlebar.

Ah, yeah. You're right.

That's assuming you are running -6° or -8° stem. I'm currently running a -10° stem so the effective rise for me will be the full 20mm. There are other risers bars about to hit the market with a -6° and -8° stem which would give me an overall rise for 25-30mm which is probably too much for me.

Looks pretty similar to the Ullicyc T5 that someone else linked in concepts except that one is 40mm rise. At least the angles are a little sharper instead of being an obvious Y1RS gullwing bar clone.

That's an interesting proposal - aesthetics aside, it's a bit too gravelish for me (10 cm flare). But worth considering, thanks!
The reach is longer, but I could go with the 80mm stem.
