Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
Hi !

I am interested in purchasing this frame and would like to know if someone succeed in fitting a different handlebar than the one provided by Velobuild. If yes, which one did you use ? Thank you in advance !
I fitted the kocevlo one. It was actually provided by Velobuild because their cockpit didn't come in the size I wanted. you just skip the top headset cover that comes with a frame and you can use any handlebar you want

the rear derailleur was not modified, so I had to change the cage myself
It's interesting that it arrived (pandapodium) with the batteries inserted, already synced with the controls, and the latest firmware version.

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes? She has been built.

Ive taken her for a few rides now and have some perspective. The build was a breeze. Everything routed internally crazy smooth, the BSA threads were a dream and the thru axles are the same. I took a file to the brake mounts and tried to remove the overspray as neatly as possible. The brakes mounted very flat. I had to source the front mount brake adapter from a local shop(they actually removed it from an Aethos they had so I could get my build done quickly). Ill go through a parts list and then give impressions.

My specs: 188cm tall, 91.4cm inseam,and I weigh 74-76kg

Frame: X68(duh) in a size 56
Handlebars: Ullicyc T4 Ultimate 36/120
Wheel: 9Velo CD Wide 50/58(ceramic bearings and Ti freehub)
Groupset: SRAM Force E1 w/PM. 10/36 cass and 48/35 chainrings. 160mm Paceline rotor front. 140 CLX-R rotor rear
Chain: SRAM 12spd Flat top. Purple. Waxed.
Saddle: Ryet 3D Romin copy...picture has Selle Italia SLR
Pedals: Onirii Ti extended SPD-SL(maybe switching to Ultegra 4mm extended)
Der Hander: Silca 3d Ti
Tires: Pirelli Pzero Race TLR RS 30mm setup tubeless with Silca 2.0 and RideNow valves(just slashed my tire open on my last ride...8mm cut in my brand new tire. Sealant everywhere....yay)

First impressions: the bike feels super compliant. It sprints quickly and gets up to speed faster than I can. Turning is a dream and sharp as a tack. I am in love with the internal cable routing and it looks so stupid clean.

Going downhill is another story. Its sloppy at high speeds. I recently went on a fast group ride and above 38mph it was a bit sketchy. Going dead straight downhill wasnt bad but cornering as speeds felt unstable. I am not the best descender or corner taker. I'd love some insight if anyone else feels this way or if I set it up poorly for descending, obviously a longer wheelbase would be more stable. I did put my saddle back a few mm today to test the weight balance, Ill report back.

I did go 52mph down a rippin hill and passed some real fast bois tho, so that was fun.

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes? So here's a short update on my bike:

Ordered in march
Wrong painting by tantan
Month long delays until new paint job
Broken fork (light version)
Another 5 weeks since exciting time for the new fork which is not even painted

Despite that, the seat post does not fit into the frame, it's too loose sideways, but i can buy an OEM one

To sum it up: Would never buy again the frame and never again at tantan

Re: TAGOOLA New Brand Launch:Carbon Fiber Road Rims and Wheelset Promotion
The free hub noise is a bit louder and cruder than I’d like. It also has a bit of an oscillation, I suspect from the free hub not being entirely concentric. Overall minor details
Recently I heard a genuine DT 180 hubs and it had similar oscillating noise. Since then I've slept my nights peacefully.

Re: Seraph Bikes Superlight 836g X68 - Alternative to SL8 Fakes? Finished my build.

52cm chameleon white with 400 x 90 mm handlebars

$889 frameset
$1,087 Ultegra Di2 R8150 groupset
$338 XCADEY Ventus carbon crankset power meter
$608 EliteWheels Edge 50mm deep
$300 other parts
===
$3,222

Weight 7.16kg/15.8 lb
with Shimano PD-ES600 pedals (279g), computer mount, no bottle cages.

Notes:
- I didn't get the plug that holds the front derailleur backing plate so when I undid the bolts, the backing plate fell into the frame. You need to leave one of the bolts attached, but loose enough so you can rotate the hanger out of the way. I also didn't get the seatpost cover. But I did get the 160mm only front brake adapter.
- I stripped the rear saddle clamp nut trying to torque it to 6 Nm. I replaced it with an M5 barrel nut.

Re: TAN TAN X67 Decided to mount the add-on again, I'm back in flat country, and I'm used to the look of it now, I passed the "ugh it's ugly" phase.

Overall, I'm happy with the bike, even if I had to glue some sand paper on the new seatpost clamp that Tantan sent me because it wasn't holding.

The frame is certainly a conversation starter on rides. Even with this no paint job.

Re: VeloBuild VB-R-268 frame
In this last photo it’s really easy to see. You used the full kit that comes with the handlebar and not a mix of the original cover + the spacers from the handlebar you used.

I wanted to know if it would be possible to use the original cover (which fits perfectly in that recessed area of the headset) together with the spacers from an alternative handlebar.

Maybe it could be possible by redoing a new cover via 3D printing.

Thanks for the photos!!

I usted a ryet handlebar oth original cover. I think a had to sand a couple of pins (Sorry about my english) but it fits perfect y. I will post a pic tomorrow
