What a beautiful bike - the raw carbon gloss finish really is amazing and I’m so glad I went for it.
Bike was so easy to build.

A quick 5 minute test confirmed the bike is solid as a rock and as comfortable as you would ever hope for - the geometry is superb. To be able to climb straight onto a bike and feel instantly comfortable and at home says it all.

Ultegra 8170 is absolutely ridiculous. Silent to the point where I wasn’t even sure I changed gear and so fast across the range.

Weighed in around 7.35kg with pedals which is right on target.

Hope to get an hour out on it tomorrow so hopefully will be able to report back after that, but initial impressions are really, really positive.

Really nice build.

I ordered a 56 cm as well, with raw carbon and a mix of glossy and matte finish with custom decals.
Still have to wait until January to receive the frame, so in the meantime I’m wandering around the forums getting inspired by great builds like yours.

For my build, I ordered a wheelset from XM Carbon Speed:
CS-D50CU-33 in the front and CS-D65CU-33 in the rear — a mullet setup with 50 mm front and 65 mm rear, and 26 mm internal width.
Since I’m a heavier rider at around 95 kg, Peter advised me to choose the T800 carbon, 20/20H pattern, the titanium-colored Carbon Speed hub, and the 3.8 mm carbon spokes because they’re a bit thicker and stiffer than the 5.0 mm version.
Peter just sent me the first photos of the rims. Total weight is 1335 grams.
If you’re interested, I can give you an update once I receive the wheels.

I have a couple of questions:

• Which titanium bolts did you use for the groupset?
Do you have a list with quantities and sizes? I’d love to order them before the frame arrives.

• And just out of curiosity — what’s the total weight of your bike? Did you measure it?


No problem, weight wise, I think the bike weighed in at 7.3kg including Dura Ace pedals. I'll try and weigh again at the weekend to double check this.

Re: Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road) I started building my build for real, everything looks good and goes pretty smoothly. Only thing that I really don't like is the serrated spacer for saddle clamp bolt, I thing everything serrated against carbon is not good idea, maybe for the fist time your torque that bolt it is holding good but everything your need adjust saddle angle I think it would be pain.
As I have access to CNC machine I went and made my own smooth spacers and I think it works much better, with serrated once when I tighten them to just snug 3nm I was still able to move saddle with my hand, with those smooth one when I tighten them to 3nm saddle is rock solid.

Did you guys who is using bike have any problem with saddle angle slipping and did you use carbon paste between carbon and aluminium surfaces of seatpost?

I sent this to LightCarbon as my suggestion to improvement so maybe they will alter their design.

Otherwise so far bike looks pretty awesome.

The Schwalbe g-one R Pro is actually quite small and therefore measures exactly 40mm or 45mm wide on a 28mm internal rim, leaving me with 3mm of clearance on all sides within the frame. I'll have to see if it works well, but I really like the look of it 😄

Re: Lightcarbon: LCR018-D (endurance all-road) FWIW - I had a discussion with Gavin and found out the BB and Headtube are ~15% and 11% stiffer if the bike is built without the storage compartment.  We have some significant descents here in UT, often with strong crosswinds and some uneven pavement from the cold winters. Because I've had some unpleasant experiences with a few bikes lacking stability at speed, I changed my order to the no compartment option.
