Thank you SO much! The internet can be a crazy, horrible place, but this forum is amazing - great people sharing and helping.
I have a question about this 0.7mm spacer. This was originally discussed on page 85 of this thread. (I 'borrowed your picture Picograms - I hope that's okay). I tried a mock build with it and the gap looks too big. I built up a mock build without the spacer and it looks just right - no rubbing. Is there any compelling reason to use the spacer?
If you tighten the ahead cap to the torque specified in the instructions, the spacers will rub against the frame. I also tried leaving out the 0.7mm washer as a test, and it looked fine, but after tightening it to the torque specification, the gap disappeared, and it rubbed against the top tube at the rear.
Nice! great job! I should have not seen this new gravel aero racing frame.
I'm confused by this comment. Do you mean you torque a headseat cap to specification? You should just tighten it until there's no play anymore and it still rotates smoothly. I wouldn't go by a fixed torqeu spec for that. If you mean something else than the headset cap, then ignore my comment. (I'm still curious to hear which cap you then talk about)
No washer and no rub issues I noticed. That being said, I have swapped out the stock headset bearings for enduro, not sure if there are slight differences giving me the space.
Same here,No washer, no problem and no overtorqueing the headset
