Re: ZRace XG calipers- how do you bleed?
After suffering my own adventures bleeding these calipers, I want to reiterate precision6625's advice. You need to directly bleed the caliper, especially on the rear wheel where the caliper's orientation will trap air at the top. To do this you need a good bleeding syringe and an adapter that fits the ZRACE caliper bleed port. I'm guessing it's an M2 thread? Bleed port adapters that fit are hard to find. I use the funnel adapter with the smallest thread available in EZ MTB's 10 piece plastic adapter fitting kits. I jam the open tube end into the opening where the funnel normally goes. The diameters match up perfectly and create a seal. I believe if you have the brass kit you can put the funnel on and jam the tube into the funnel opening. From there you pull on the syringe to pull out air and push mineral oil back in--if you're familiar with SRAM's bleeding procedure it will be similar. Sorry if already answered, has anyone tried max size gravel tires? What will fit and with which width rims? I went through the topic swiftly but could not find an answer... I uploaded a new video on YT 2 days ago where I show the available width front&back YMMV: There might be combinations of Rim + tire that change the circumference, like my "35C" becomes 37mm diameter, also the wheel must be 100% true. TL;DW: Front 43-45 no issue I suppose (37C + 11/12mm free), back: 46mm total gap between chainstays, take 2-3mm on each side, gives 40C. November 21, 2025, 03:41:06 PM |

Finally i got on the bike for a short 10k test ride. The weather here in south Germany at the moment is just grey and cold. I ride my Cube Nuroad Gravel for three years now and only had a second old Peugeot Retro Road Bike for some short rides. Recently my GF bought a Liv EnviLiv Advanced, which is quite similar from the geometry and position for me. So i don't have a ton of different and many riding experience with a lot of bikes. But what i felt yesterday was, that the frame is quite flexi? As soon i stood up for some sprinting, the brake rotor rubbed against the brake pads. Sure the wheels have also some flex in it, but since the rotor is mounted on the axle the rubbing would come from the brake caliper moving? Even during the seat post adjustment at home, i saw quite a flex at the BB when standing on one pedal. But the brake calipers have a bit more room to move them a bit on the mounting position. On the other hand, it just feels fast for me  Compared to the Liv, it's a bit less "aggressive" riding, i mean the feeling when turning and the overall handling when you try to ride hands free. It's a bit more stable. Compared to my Gravel, it's very unstable and aggressive/responsive I'm pretty happy with the bike  Components working fine for now. Only the front chainrings are quite "loud" compared to the 2x12 105 from the Liv. Also if anyone is interested and have access to 3dprinter, here is my design for Garmin Varia rigid holder specific to LCR018-D seatpost profile. Big thanks to Jim from LightCarbon, he was able to sent me seatpost profile drawing in high res and thanks to that he saved me a lot of time in CAD and measuring. I think that was pretty awesome from LightCarbon. Only thing you will need is M3 hexagon nut (there is a little cut out in holder where do you slot or push in m3 nut) and M3x20mm bolt, puck and puck bolts you can use the ones from original Varia mount. I also recommend to use at least 3 wall loop and 25% infill (just to be sure just print it with 100% infill, it increases weight for just 2g ) in slicer, and PETG material for increased temperature and UV resistance.

I am also done - nothing special (black glossy, 58). The built was really easy, but omg this seatpost....this is not easy to torque the bolts for the saddle. I already feedbacked this to LightCarbon, i hope they will change the design somehow. I will give you an update after I've really tested it. March 23, 2026, 12:20:36 PM |

For anyone dealing with a loose storage cover. I put on some helicopter tape to the top part of the frame where the cover rests, and it works amazingly well. The little extra thickness from the tape makes the cover rock solid. April 19, 2026, 06:59:58 AM |

Ah, ok. Helpful tips deserve more praise. In that spirit, I'd like to say a huge thank you for the trick with the clear coat on the seatpost. I also applied several layers of clear coat, and the seatpost, which previously made a terrible creaking noise, is now quiet.
