It is clear that they changed the front triangle A LOT : 67° seat angle and 77° head angle  ;D
Maybe I'm not getting it, but the current FM936 has 67° and 77° STA and HTA. Both drop a degree when going to a 120/120.

thought the same thing! Might be a private mold for the rear triangle and link like NS has. Asked Wing about it
Let us know what they say.

Hello friends

Here you have more information for the same FM936 frame, 2020 and 2021 model differences:

The same geometry and different link and rear

It may not be a new 936.  They may have paid for a custom rear triangle. Isn't that 2021 similar to the NS Synonym.

29er / Light Weight Down Country Frame
« on: November 08, 2020, 08:02:18 PM »
Looking for a down country, or whatever you'd like to call it, frame to build up. Wanting the usual, a cross country rig with closer to enduro geometry, long, low, slack and steep.  Only option I've found is the Carbonda FM936.

Looking for
- 120 mm travel
- 66 degree or less HTA
- 76 or more STA
- Want something relatively light, less than 5.5 lbs with the shock, targeting 25 lb build
- Shortish chain stays, 435 or so
- Effective top tube of around 630 mm on a large

Any other Chiner options?

A little slacker and a 160, but looks good with updated geo, LC FS947. There's a thread going about it.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: 007Bikes - Shimano drivetrains - legit?

Ordered XTR shifter/ derailleur combo and MT 900 cranks.  Prices couldn't be beaten.
Everything arrived in 10 days and looks good. No packaging as others have mentioned, but all parts are legit.

Is it really needed, at least the slack head angle..... ::)

Stepper seat angle would of course be appreciated  :)
Like most of the open source offerings, the P9 is behind the times. Can you even buy an updated enduro bike with a 66° HTA (assuming you could find one in stock, lol)? Only fits 160 mm brakes and 2.3 tires, acceptable 5 years ago, but out of date today.  That's why we all get so excited for something like the AM831 that matches many of the current trends.

« on: August 19, 2020, 08:30:23 PM »
I sheared off the non-drive side of the lower swing arm bolt on my 91x today.  I heard a couple weird noises but didn't notice until the drive side started to back out and knocked my chain off.  About 1000 total miles on the frame.  Maybe 200 pavement and 800 pretty flat singletrack with some small jumps.  I only weigh 140lbs.  Does anyone know of a source other than LightCarbon to get this?  In my search for trunnion bolts I found that the Evil bike bolts worked.  Looking around the Evil site the Delta pivot kits look similar.  I didn't know if anyone has figured out if Lightcarbon uses any standard suspension hardware.
I've got an Evil Following MB.  Let me know if you want me to measure something.

I wonder why nobody built this bike..cant find finished one.. https://www.lightcarbon.com/new-lightcarbon-best-downhill-carbon-mountain-bike-frameset-dh209_p130.html
It hasn't been on their site for long, so I doubt anyone has received one yet. Looks like a great Enduro option with more modern geometry.

For all you BIS (bike idiot savants), what is this one a clone of? I always assume most of these are based on or started out as an OEM production frame.

Backcountry.com and competitive cycles have the frame right now for $2k.  I figure this China build will cost closer to $1k with custom paint and improved hardware.  I may shell out the extra $1k for a warranty and something I can ride this season, haven’t decided yet.  I imagine others would be thinking the same
If I could get the carbon frame for $2k, I'd do it, but $2k for aluminium and I'll wait. Like Sitar Ned, I don't need a new bike, otherwise I wouldn't be willing to wait it out.

I thought the consensus was Bitex over Novatec. I've seen the Powerway hubs but haven't heard much about them. My googlefu didn't turn up much when I last searched.

Hello
I'd be interested if it's not too late. Debating on L or XL in color #11.

Any recommendations on size if I'm exactly 6ft?

Good question.. I'm 6ft as well and am still undecided. I think you should be choosing between the M and L, though.
I'm 6' and have always gone with a large (M in this case).  I should probably ride an XL to see if I like it, but I've never been unhappy with an L.
