Wondering how this might look on the TT023

What is exactly your curiosity regarding this cockpit?

Curved basebar may be a little faster, but not everyone will enjoy the lowered position when braking (you yourself asked here for a raised basebar once if I'm not mistaken)

Monopost won't render a great advantage either (as opposed to the traditional dual post), marginal gains if any...

Bars are a copy of the ones sold with the bike. Difference being the hand grip, which can be switched to adapt to your needs. Again not sure it will be a lot faster, but more confort on your position will end up faster (you can stay aero for longer periods of time and save energy). Balugoe sell these for a decent price if you look for something  hassle free (won't need to switch the whole front end of the bike)

Focusing only at "looks", certainly will be a distinct front end...

Anyone tried these Rujixu carbon wheels with the "dragon scale" texture?
Came across this set on AliExpress — looks like an attempt to mimic Scope's textured wheel finish, though the execution seems pretty rough compared to the original
Wheels are 23mm internal and 30mm external, not bad for the new wider wheels standard. Also, not cheap wheels as far as Aliexpress goes
Has anyone here actually ordered a set? Curious about build quality, weight, and whether the texture holds up (or just looks bad up close).

Does anybody have any recommendations for BTA setup on the stock basebar and risers? Trying to brainstorm how to mount in that single hole in the middle of the plate.


I added this aluminum extension from aliexpress, it fit one bottle and my garmin, one bolt means it may rotate, but after a lot of torque on the bolt, nothing is moving...

Hello, I would like to install a one piece carbon base bar (and stem combo) instead of the two piece design that comes standard with the frame. I have contacted Chris about compatibility with the frame but he is not sure what base bars are compatible. Does someone have experience with this?

My main concern regarding of the desire for this change is the flexibility the setup now has with the aluminium stem in combination with the carbon base bar. Previously, I had the carbon stem and base bar combo where the base bar slipped and cut of my brake lines almost causing a crash during a race. I was happy knowing there was a aluminium stem comming. (The alu stem feels sturdy yet too flexible for me).

Hopefully someone can help me!

In the start of this thread there are a few comments about compatibility with the Tririg Alpha One integrated front end, it is compatbile, but the stem won't be flush with the frame (stem is slimmer). Tririg now sells the Alpha Prime and I assume it will be compatible too.

Don't expect to find any other information on compatibity besides what is already available, very few people will dare to try a different front end. Meaning, it's up to you to risk and find out...

3D printing alone is insufficient for these weights and mounting requirements..

Not entirely true. There are several materials that can significantly increase strength, multiple ways to print the parts, and you can always redesign them to be much more rigid and durable — this is especially important.

I’ve tested at least five different BTA solutions in PETG, and they worked decently. However, when I switched to Tritan HT, the performance improved considerably.
That said, exposing the parts to direct sunlight (for example, during a transition) will definitely hurt their longevity.

For an extra level of safety, you can coat the 3D printed part with resin — much like a carbon fiber + resin composite, but without the carbon. This usually turns the part into something extremely sturdy.

I have 13sp sram e1 xplr on this frame. It’s not worth it. The frame is not actually udh compatible whether due to tolerances or design. Just get 12sp.

Interesting comment. You have a 13 speed UDH XPLR derailleur installed, yet it is not compatible?

Can you explain?

When ordering the frame, I specifically requested 1.0 thread pitch thru-axles (which are normally sold with a 1.5 pitch). Chris asked whether I planned to use the SRAM E1 XPLR, and I confirmed that I did. He made no mention of any incompatibility.

At first I did not consider this frame because it was not UDH, but when it was upgraded to UDH (also confirmed by Chris) it became my first option. If not compatible with SRAM UDH derailleurs, then it defeats the purpose of being UDH at first (I'm having a hard time figuring this incompatibility thing)

My Velobuild TT in size M is finished and rides incredibly well – it's lightning fast!

Anybody pull the trigger on this one? I am eyeing this one but looking for feedback first. It seems to be a quite decent package (integrated bento; storage compartment; 30C clearance) but on the higher end of the cost spectrum for a Chinese DTC Frame. Also not sure about the aerodynamics of it. But the nearest Western / big brand frame comparison I can get at a close price (although $1000 difference really close) is the Vanquish Tri 2.0.

The same guy that developped this frame for Hongfu is responsible for the Vanquish brand (Jeroen). Check this thread:

I recently upgraded my aero bar to the winnow hb052. But now I have the problem where the winnow handlebar are too low and to far for my liking which makes the handling worse.

I dlike to put back the original handlebar but keeping the aerobar themselves. But the spacing between the spacers is different which makes them incompatible.

I could also put the aerobar on the VB plate but then they are not angled and the plate is missing holes for front hydration system.

Anybody came up with a good solution? I saw a random video where the guy just flipped the winnow handlebars. Any success with this?

You can use the Winow bar upside down, so the brakes are higher. I did this, and it worked. Not sure about the looks, but there are TT bikes that use that layout (higher bars)

No, it's a custom PR3 crankset that uses the proprietary interface. It's basically Easton with a notch missing (or at least that's my understanding). Standard PR3 cranks use the old SRAM 3-bolt standard.

Considering it's a missing notch, wouldn't it be compatbile with the Easton interface?

The answer is pretty simple - it's a forum and we are here to discuss thing. If someone doesn't want to read our discussion about certain things, he should not post about it or even use a forum. Simple.

Perhaps I didn't use the right words. I don't have any problem with anyone here—especially not with debating things in this forum. That's exactly the purpose of being here, right?

Ten years ago, there was very little information about Chinese carbon frames. If it weren't for the early buyers who purchased them, tested them, figured out which ones were good and which were bad, and shared their experiences, we'd all still be in the dark, wouldn't we?

Today, the Chinese frame market is well established. Thanks in large part to this forum, we all have a pretty good idea of which manufacturers are reliable and which ones to avoid.

Now, drawing a parallel to Chinese power estimators: by now, it's widely accepted that most of them are inaccurate and unreliable (with exceptions like Magene and maybe Geoid). Point. That's it.

There are one or two isolated voices here claiming their unit is good and reliable, but they usually rely on non-rigorous tests, so I wouldn't put much stock in them.

But there's a key difference: a crappy frame could potentially fail catastrophically—leaving you with fewer teeth in your mouth, or worse.

My crappy power estimator, as far as I know, won't break, explode, or cause my bike to fail. The bike still works fine (it's not ok to compare it to a square wheel bike). I can ride normally, I simply ignore the inaccurate numbers if I want.

The weight and price of my power estimator is comparable to a regular spider adapter (piece of metal/carbon to mount my crank arm to my chainring). So I ordered the crappy power estimator, I'm using it, I'm fully aware I can't trust the readings, and I'm okay with that. That's the math I made.

I'm not sure there's a real need for more people to keep buying these, testing them, and coming here just to say the obvious 'it's crap.' But with the recent price drops, more and more people will probably get them anyway. Let's just hope they don't end up overtraining—or worse—because the power numbers were way off.

If the product is just a random number generator, if it's complete crap—why, why, why do you even bother coming here to comment and complain about it?
Let the people who want it order it. It's their money.
No one's forcing you to buy the crappy power meter from ThinkRider, or any other chinese power meter for that matter...

"oh but you could buy a good power meter for $250"

What if I want to buy the crappy one that costs $50?

Is it possible that people are in some ways concerned that I'll be misguided by wrong power figures?

Geez…
