Then I'll intensify my search again. I had my eye on the Ican A9, but it's only approved for 28mm tires and doesn't have a T47 bottom bracket. With the Lightcarbon, I initially liked the LCR018-D, but it's almost as expensive as the discounted WinSpace.
I wasn't familiar with Mondince, but it looks very interesting. Unfortunately, it seems some models have a minimum order quantity. I'll take a closer look and then post an update in your thread.

Hi, you may want to check out the ICAN FL1 frameset as it seems to fit your requirements of >28mm wide tyres (ICAN stated that it supports up to 32mm wide tyres) and the T47 BB. I recently built one up and I am pleased with it. The frameset is of great built quality and building it was also straightforward. Ordering it from ICAN was smooth and easy too. A couple of posts ago, there was some discussion about getting lightweight aftermarket axels. Hence, I decided to look into it myself. Here are the specifications of the stock ICAN axels:

Front Axel: Diameter: 12mm, Length: 123mm, Threading: M12 (Pitch: 1.5mm) * 14mm
Rear Axel: Diameter: 12mm, Length: 168mm, Threading: M12 (Pitch: 1.5mm) * 16mm

After searching on AliExpress, I found matching ones from Deemont and have purchased them. They just arrived today and I have installed them. They fit and here is a weight comparison:

Stock: 37.0g | Aftermarket: 26.7g (-10.3g)
Stock: 48.9g | Aftermarket: 35.1g (-13.8g)

While there is some weight savings here, I don't think I will be able to feel the difference. This was more of a "why not" upgrade. Hope this helps anyone who's interested!

Trying to set up and tune a new bike (ICAN A23). I can shift fine when the groupset isn’t connected to Shimano's e-tune app.  Once I connect, neither shifter does anything.  Haven’t had di2 before, but sounds like it should be able to shift when connected.  Any ideas??

Firmware is up to date.  Tried on iPhone and android.

r7170 105 DI2 groupset is from Ali

Could ride the bike as-is, but wanted to tune the shifting before the maiden voyage.  Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I need some input on deciding between a few framesets. This will be my first modern road bike, and I’m just looking for an entry into the road bike world again. The bike will be used in flat and windy Denmark, so I wanted to hear which one of these framesets you would recommend for my use case.

1.   Seraph / Tan Tan TT-x68
I’ve generally heard good stuff about this frame, but on the contrary, I’ve heard that customer support is not as good, and QC on this frame can be lacking. So, is this true? As I don’t want to have to take the frame to a store to have the frame faced and chased. What are people’s experiences this this frame?

2.   Light Carbon LCR017-D
From what I’ve read and seen Light Carbon tend to have better QC, and therefore a better-quality frame and build experience, but I feel like there are lack of reviews on how the frame rides. I doubt that it is slower than any of these frames listed here, but it would be nice to know how it does in compared to other frames.

3.   Hygge model S (Updated EPS version)
This was the frame I initially had my eyes on, but its only because it is subjectively a very good-looking frame, visually speaking. As far as I have read, there have been some problems here and there with the headset expander and etc, but it seems largely resolved now. So, is this frame any good in compared to the others here?

These are the frames I’m looking at right now. I am open to other frames, but as you may have noticed all these frames have a threaded BB. Frames like the ICAN A9 and Elves Falth Pro were also on my list but got cut due to being press fit. Is this really an issue though? Have people found the holes on these frames built with good enough tolerances? And should I also reconsider press fit frames?

Hi, I was in a similar position recently and also looked at the same frames you mentioned. In the end, I chose an ICAN FL1 (it has a threaded BB). The build process was straightforward, and the overall finish was solid. You can see that specific topic for more details about that frame. Thanks.

Looks really good mate. Is your chain too short though? And the joint at the quick link does not look straight, is it seated properly?

Now that you mention it, the chain might be a bit short. I followed the big-big method and shifting has been fine so far, but I’ll take another look, especially at the quick link. Thanks for pointing that out.

Hi everyone, long-time lurker here. I wanted to share my experience building up an ICAN FL1.

My goal was to build a carbon race bike that’s more aggressive than my current alloy endurance bike, while still being practical and relatively easy to service. I also wanted to try electronic shifting. I’m fairly comfortable with hands-on work, so I felt ready to take this on.

I chose the ICAN FL1 for its clean design and straightforward compatibility (round seatpost, standard 52mm headset, etc.). The geometry also suited what I was looking for: slightly longer reach and significantly lower stack compared to my current bike. The UCI certification and generally positive feedback on ICAN gave me enough confidence to proceed.

Ordering the frameset was smooth. I worked with Sherry on a simple paint job, and the frame was ready to ship in about a week. I am based in Southeast Asia, so shipping was also quick, taking roughly another week.

Assembly was mostly straightforward. One feature I really appreciated was the pre-installed guides for internal routing. This made cable and hose installation much easier: I simply taped them to the guides and pulled them through. I used the same method for the handlebar, which worked well.

The only issue I encountered was mounting the hydraulic brake calipers. The bolts included with the groupset didn’t quite fit, so I had to source alternative lengths. From what I’ve seen in ICAN build videos and forum discussions, this seems fairly common and not specific to this frame. On a positive note, the caliper mounting surfaces were well-finished: flat and free of paint.

So here’s the build:

Handlebar: LightCarbon HBR14 (110mm stem, 380/400mm width)
Seatpost: Elita One (27.2mm)
Saddle: Elita One
Groupset: Shimano 105 R7170

Pedals: Onirii PD-06 (Extended Ti)
Cassette: ZTTO SLR Gen3 (12-speed, 11–30T)
Chain: KMC X12
Bottom Bracket: Senicx T47-85.5-24R (Steel)
Bottle Cages: Giant Propel Aero

Total weight comes in at around 7.8kg. On the road, the bike feels fast, agile, and reponsive which is exactly what I was aiming for. Overall, I am very satisfied with how the build turned out!
