Thanks for the help. To clarify after taking a closer look (attached another picture from the rear/right bolt):

The play/movement: To be more precise, the metal threaded inserts are solid and fixed—they don't move inside the frame. The 'play' I’m experiencing is actually the caliper tilting because the mounting surface isn't flat.

The right/rear mount: As seen in the photo, the caliper is not resting on paint at the rear mounting point. It seems to be bare material.

The threads: The threads themselves appear to be perfectly straight.

The left/front mount: That ragged paint edge might have been out of the box or caused by the caliper tilting while trying to align it.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the middle of building up my frame from Lichtcarbon, and I’ve run into a bit of a snag with the rear brake.

Everything was going smoothly until I tried to adjust the rear caliper. No matter what I do, I can't get it centered or indexed properly. Upon closer inspection, I noticed there is some noticeable play at the front mounting point, and the mount itself doesn't look perfectly straight.

I have already reached out to Lichtcarbon (Carol) about this, but I wanted to check with the community here as well.

Has anyone else experienced alignment issues with these mounts?

Do you think this is something that can be fixed by "facing" the mounts, or does it sound like a structural/warranty issue?

Any suggestions on how to stabilize that play in the mounting point?

I'd appreciate any insights or advice you might have!
