I made contact with Jack from Mondince just to double check Light Cycling legitimacy and he advised me that it is their sister company, so I went to order one of their frames.

I have just received the frame I ordered (image on a previous post and see below) from Daniel at light Cycling and I have had a very good experience!

Pro's:
1. Good, regular clear contact - honestly, he replied much quicker than I could even reply back sometimes!
2. Custom paint job - see the photo, looks incredible!
3. Quick delivery (~approx 2 weeks) and no additional hidden import taxes/fees - was all included in the price Daniel quoted me. Packaging all very solid as well from the photos

Con's:
None so far

Just waiting for parts to build up - planning build of 1x groupset (maybe Lt-woo/Sensah) and Superteam wheels (27mm internals) - will provide images/review once all completed!

I talked to Jack about this relation of mondince and light cycling and he wanted me to make sure no one thinks it is a sister company. The owners are only friends and light cycling uses some of mondince frames. So two completely different companies!!!

so you went with the standard fsa acr spacers or any specific ones for a certain frame like Tarmac SL8, Factor Ostro,...?

Hence why we worked on a new (high end) brand identity. There is a complete branding book, linking all Xmcs core principles and values to the AERYS concept. It was much more than a name, it was a lot of hard work and iterations to position Xmcs brand identity.

It was validated in the trademark database, trademark was filed, until just prior to the acceptance deadline a competitor notified us of his objection because he felt the name was too similar to a (non racing) bike range of his.

You cannot imagine how disappointing it was to see all these months of hard work, creativity and passion to be put down the drain with one letter.

That happened late, so not a lot of time to go through the same process again before the release pf the new frames. There needs to be something in terms of branding with the go live. There now is, and there are multiple options.

Perhaps in the future there will be something else like Aerys as a proper evocative high end brand identity, but exactly as you say: xmcs cannot keep on changing these things.

Simultaneously the half cut logo is a sales banger. GRT and VRT frames are selling incredibly well. Telling me the typical xmcs customer isn’t in this particular discussion on Chinertown.

Also makes me question why I engage so much here, as I don’t sell frames, parts, nor get any commission on xmcs sales. I’m - as a xmcs partner - just here because I am very much passionate of the product. I ride our GRT as often as I can. Every time I get of the bike I can’t wait for my next gravel adventure.

I totally understand that you’re working more in an advisory role for Peter/Xmcs, and my opinion wasn’t meant as feedback directed at you personally. And when you’ve put so much heart and soul into this major rebranding project, I can definitely understand the frustration if it falls through at the last minute.

I’ve already shared my thoughts with Peter, and I hope that—perhaps along with the UCI approvals—there will be a final announcement regarding the branding.

But it’s great to hear that there are already many buyers and that you’re having success with your custom bike build service.

Has there been any update on UCI approval/how the manufacturing is going?

The last update I received regarding uci approval is that it will still take a couple of weeks until final approval. UCI processes take longer than expected…

Hi, I am also looking for a zero offset seatpost. My saddle clamps won't stay tight and my saddle tilts forward and even backwards when stretching on the bike...

Hello, has anyone build his bike with longteng handlebars? Anyone with experiences so far? Would prefer a light carbon one but they say it‘s 55 Dollars shipping and the longteng one is 85 dollars.

Also can you recommend the frame? The frame must have seen a lot of kilometers by now. I'm planning to use it as a sporty winter racing bike with the option of fitting thicker tires and then doing some gravel riding.
