So it's the same frame without the "wind eye". I am guessing they use the same moulds for both, so you can ask for no wind eye, like you can ask for no frame storage?
With the 73 version I imagine you save a bit of weight, easier to clean and more compliant rear end.

yup. i think the holes are claimed to be more aero but i dont really care ifthey are not, i like the looks. seems like they are letting me preorder so i might get it at release
Where are you guys seeing the LCR73?

Hambini Short posted: he says 52mm TIRE CLEARANCE so it IS their Aero Gravel Frame LCG72 although that name is never said and one can read « ENDURANCE » on the top tube along with the word EAGLE 🦅 🤨

Let’s hope he’ll do a proper weighing, measuring etc very soon
It is clearly the Endurance frame. The "wind eyes" are different between the frames, easy to differentiate. He must have misspoken.

How is the seat tube angle meassured on this bike? If 74 degrees are a strait line from BB to top of seat tube, than the actual STA might be steeper?

5
I’m currently running a 130mm and I can confirm, not the best on gravel but it’s doable.

Why would a longer stem be bad for gravel? In my mind having a bigger lever is better, like mtbs with wide handlebars.

This bike is looking fantastic, but I still agree that +10mm of front center and reach would make it perfect. 74.5°STA and 79mm bb drop for xl also and I would buy it on spot. A Perfect bike.

Yes, thank you. But what kind of imapcts/loads are we talking about? I see two kinds of impacts:
-Direct impacts to the rim: rock strikes to the side, snakebites, tire deflates and you strike the rim directly against the surface.
-Extra force/load: you drive over washboard and rattles you and the rim like hell, you hit a pothole generating extra force on the rim, you drive over a curb, bunnyhop. Basicaly generating extra load but not directly touching the rim. I am not talking some extreme full force hitting a giant pothole, but rather normal controled every day impact you know :)

I was at a UCI gravel race in April and people were going 1000 watts over forest paths with big roots on their zipp xplr wheels for example. I imagine that is too much even for xmcs gravel 32mm IW T1100 rims? I ordered 40mm deep 26IW rims.

At least I want to know how fearful should I be about potholes and curbs and washboard. I hope not too much :)

I am getting a pair of XMCS wheels and am wondering about T1100 rim usage on gravel. A few times in this thread it is mentioned that T1100 rims are not very suitable for gravel like T800 are. Why is that?
Is it the fear of rock strikes to the side/wall of the rim. Or is it the fear of hitting a pothole or washboard too hard and cracking the rim? Do T1100 rims handle stress worse or do they handle strikes worse?

The bike looks fantastic. Really good job with geometry. Front derailleur mount is a bit optimistic with 2.25 inch tires.  :)
Could we get riser bars with less or no flare? 450mm plus at the drops is too much.
The only thing missing now is a proper 1x 13speed groupset with ~500% gear range. Sram xplr 10-46 is too little for me and the Alps.

Hello!

Buying a new wheelset and ICAN looks very tasty with their EU warehouse avoiding shipping costs and paypal fees. ICAN G24 SL wheels weigh 1300g for 670EUR. The thing that scares me are their hubs. They make their own D21, D28 and D91 hubs. I would get the D91 hub with those wheels. They are definetly not compatible with DT swiss spare parts like XMCS hubs are. This youtuber shows the hub inner workings: https://youtu.be/HvQL8IBQ5v0?is=Ki3P124RPo5-p6mH

Do we know anything about these hubs? How reliable they are, bearing sizes used, spare parts availability? If anyone has experience with ICAN in general, please share information.

Thank you!

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: VoiceVelo Echo (aero frame)

I don't get it. Why is this aero frame cheaper than their gravel frame. On panda podium the gravel frame G-major is 2100$ and this new ECHO is 1400-1700$?

Panda Podium is selling this insane frameset: https://www.pandapodium.cc/product/incolor-voyager/?srsltid=AfmBOoqp7AG9WKVY_z2A8vzz3He3fCC0SCkbLQ0vXAqiTWXP4vZXxECN

I think this frame competes with endurance bikes (LCR018-D, Elves Eglath, Carbonda CFR-505 SL) rather than gravel bikes because it has all-road geometry (shorter wheelbase). I have never seen a bike with 45mm tyre clearance and 415mm chainstays  :o My endurance bike has 415mm chainstays with 35mm max tyres. They really put some effort into designing this.

-1700USD is a reasonable price for a frameset that weighs 850g (size54, unpainted)
-27.2mm seatpost, UDH hanger, T47 bb
-handlebar has a 20mm rise so stack numbers are higher
-max 1by chainring: 50t (good luck going 2by road groupset for tyres larger than ~36mm)

This information sadly leaves me out. My current 58 frame has 73.5° seat tube angle and a zero offset seatpost with the saddle slammed all the way forward. Both me and my bikefitter agree that I should go a bit forward still. Maybe I just have weird leg geometry. Makes a lot of frames not for me  :-\

Front center is a bit too short. Toe overlap is certain. But that seat tube angle looks bad. 73° across all sizes?  ??? Who wants that? If the seatpost is round I could remedy that by mounting and flipping an offset seatpost.

Looks great.

Interesting with even higher stack and lower reach than LightCarbon LCR018-D. At least for size 58. However, this Elves frame has smaller wheelbase and less fork offset when comparing to the LightCarbon frame. Definitely interesting combination.

I wonder what the weight will be for size 58.
Remember that LCR018-D has 8mm of rise in handlebars so stack is about the same. I might get this one over the LC one if the weight is at least 100g less and if the seatpost is round.

Tavelo Wild on Panda Podium. It is cheap and fits your needs. But aero frame with 50mm tyres and a round seatpost is a bit of a contradiction.

Do you think if it is possible to ask them not to drill holes for bosses for fenders, front derailleur, bottom of downtube? All these extra holes are bothering me a bit.
