About the saddle: I had two of this saddle, used by my son (8yr) and myself, both snapped at the same point after a while. It's comfortable, light, but not durable. I'm avoiding this one. See: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,184.msg2835.html#msg2835
About the clamp: I'm using this as well, but recently one broke into pieces after two year of use. So, for this one, buy a spare one.

Good feedback. I'll put it through the ringer this CX season. I'm a clunky remounter, so if it's going to break it'll be then.

Update time. My confidence in Aliexpress has grown exponentially. I've yet to get burned on a product, and each order has exceeded my expectations. Here's what I've purchased and my experience so far:

• $7 VXM plastic saddle - Love it. Very comfortable. Weighs just over 180g. I've got about 200 miles on it so far and I'm a big guy.
• $24 ELITA One carbon stem in 60 and 70mm. I've bought two because I've needed the low stack height these over. They've been very solid, and I'm pleased with them. I dislike the stem bolt interface, but it's a minor complaint.
• I've purchased numerous KINGSTOP hoses and fittings (Shimano, SRAM and Formula). All work great. Just make sure you buy the correct connections.
• $4 for 5 Shift cables. Works as expected. No issues.
• $20 - Superlogic 27.2 carbon setback seatpost - only about 10 miles, but holding steady. Goofy leveling mechanism, but it's not too hard to figure out.
• $1 red aluminum seatpost clamp. Came branded unlike the parts shown in the picture. Works fine though.
• $13 for 4 pairs of red metallic sintered disc pads from SOOCENT. Love these pads. Great stopping power, durability and they're quiet. I've bought 3 or 4 sets now.
• 3 months later and I'm still waiting for these shift cable hosings to arrive. Seller finally sent a replacement.
• Silicone grips. These SUCK! Do not bother. They're very thin and loose on the bars. I've tried several vendors silicone grips and haven't found anything worthwhile.

I absolutely love the Niner RKT's handling. Is there a Chinese near equivalent?

Why would he need BB clips on a PF30 BB? The PF30 shell holds the bearings instead of the retaining clips in a BB30 configuration.

I've never had suspension bearings held in with a c-clip, and I definitely advise against locktite.

When I replace suspension bearings, I apply a thin layer of assembly grease. Proper torque should remove play. As a last resort, you could try using some shims/washers if there's play in the bearings at torque.

Yeah, that's not good.... I'd be working with the seller and demanding a replacement. That's a PayPal dispute if the seller does not remedy the situation.

Hammered on this B A D B O Y E for about 4 hours on Saturday. 34 miles through the woods. Everything was perfect, but at about mile 24 I started hearing some clicking and noticed my rear wheel wasn't dished correctly. "Oh well," I thought. "I'll fix that when I get home. Not like I can do it now!"

I finished the ride, loaded my bike up, drove home and hung the bike up. When I went out to the garage the next day to redish the wheel and problem shoot the clicking noise, I was extremely surprised to find what I found.

The two screws that hold on the derailleur hanger completely fell out! The entire derailleur hanger was just sitting there, held only by the thru axle and chain tension. I have no idea how I was able to ride 10 miles over some pretty rough terrain, but thankfully nothing else broke as a result. I bought some spare hangers with the frame and they came with screws, so I hit them with some Blue Locktite and put them back. Wheel was perfect and the clicking was gone, of course.

I'm looking to buy some bulk hydraulic hoses to keep in my home workshop, and I can't seem to find a clear answer on hose interoperability.

Currently, I have Shimano XT BR-M8000, Shimano RS785, Formula R1, and Guide RSC hydraulic brakes. In short, my question is: do all of these brakes share the same hydraulic hoses?

I believe the answer is yes as long as the inserts are correct.

The "universal" hose in most cases has an outer diameter (OD) of 5.0mm and internal diameter (ID) of 2.1mm

The XT's use the BH90 hose, which has an OD of 5.0mm and ID of 2.1mm.

The RS785s use the BH59 hose with OD 5.0mm and 2.5mm ID (I think? can't find this answer, just know it's slightly larger than the BH90), however many have reported using the BH90s without issue.

The only deviation I can find are Tektro and Hayes brakes that use hoses with 5.5mm OD and 2.5mm ID.

That's just a rubber piece included with the Jagwire Mountain Pro Shift kit to prevent cable rub on the frame. No idea what Jagwire calls it.

I love Squirt too.

I've always flirted with the idea of paraffin...i guess I'll give it a go once I get threw some of my current lubes.
