Maintenance, Mechanics, & Tools / Re: Please start using Mywhoosh?
« on: October 26, 2024, 09:40:11 AM »
I am a user of Zwift since 2018 and still enjoying it. The yearly cost is well worth for me since I do not like to go to the gym and ride year round indoor for general fitness.
Of course I prefer outdoor riding but due to work and miserable weather I use Zwift at least twice per week.
The social aspect and that you are not riding in a deserted landscape is a big plus for me.

My indoor setup uses an Apple TV and so far only Zwift support this properly.
MyWoosh is in beta and a pain to install while IndieVelo is not free if you want to use the AppleTV.

I will stay on Zwift for the time being  8)

As shared on the other thread, battery quality is importatnt. Having issues on my eGR with quick discharge.
Will change batteries as recommended by others.

STAY AWAY from these:

I have some DLG batteries on order from AliX, will swap them and report if this solves the problem.
Quite sure it will.  ;-)
Thank you for your answers.

For me the the 54 frame works perfect with a 100mm stem and compact handlebar.
I would personally not go larger, but it really depends on your preferred position on the bike.

User of two Tacx Flux-S here, many used on the market for a decent price.
They may need some belt maintenance once in a while but you can find a lot of information in a Facebook group and parts are easy to get.
Mine is now over 5 years old and still going strong.

In my opinion not worth getting something unproven from AliX, due to the weight the shipment will cost you and arm and a leg...

I am 182cm and have the 54cm frame, geometry chart is under this link further down on the page:

I have built up to of the older GT20 models.
Ridden over 3'000km so far, without issues.
No experience with the GT30 but it would be my current choice with T47 BB if I had to build a new bike.

How about a Wind GT20 or GT30?
Both available now with T47 BB.

I am using the GT20 as my commuting bike with 1x12 setup and love it also on tarmac.
Fully integrated handlebar is optional.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Elita One Saddle

I've been using this one for just over a year now:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005027020275.html?spm=a2g0o.order_detail.order_detail_item.3.63eef19cFqQW4Y

I love it - favourite saddle I've used so far (out of many!). It's quite flexy, but no signs of cracking or anything like that.

I used this on several bikes with the Carbon rails, quite good if you like the Prologo saddle form...

However I switched to the Mixed 5D saddle, great comfort and stability:

Topic batteries for eRX / eR9 / eGR

I bought both of my eR9 and eGR groups without batteries and source them:
1. From local source in Europe: 2x Xtar 14500 (AA) 3.7V 800mAh /
2. From AliX China: Doublepow 14500 AA 3.7V Lithium Battery 800mAh / https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006240603318.html

Observation after using both groups over the past months and 1000km+:
1. The locally sourced batteries hold charge well, so I need to recharge about once a month
2. The Chinese sourced batteries deplete quickly, so I need to recharge once per week.

So in summary, make sure to buy quality 14500 Lithium batteries instead of going cheap.
Any other experiences?

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Aftermarket Chainrings

Even if more expensive Stone has become my Goto Chainrings, great quality and durability.
I had some bad experiences with Scenic and other suppliers where durability was not great.

Hey guys,
Anyone else having shifting issues by combining the Magene P505 with a Shimano 12 speed groupset? Did you guys compensate for the 1mm extra chainline of the shimano 12 speed cranks? Magene P505 seems to be build around the previous 43.5mm chainline.

My rear shifting seems to be only working fine when the micro adjustment is completely maxed out (+16). Front shifting is not optimal as well (Ultegra chainrings).
Can this be due to the chainline or should I search for the solution somewhere else?

Using my P505 on a Shimano 105 Di2 with original chain rings and no issues at all.
Maybe check the derailleur hanger, may be bent and messing up your shifts.
