for the rides where a dropper is needed, and large tires are needed, and suspensions are needed, and a more slack geo is needed, well for all of this i have my super-efficient FM936

it's sad to see XC on the falling side of bike market.
I would at least like to have some models back to external cable routing as the main players are doing.
e.g. the LCFS980 or 918, the FM358 of hongfu, please make those with external routing.
make external-routing great again! MEGA!

looks like a flat mount and it seems you can't use an adapter (see google AI there are some links to reddit discussions).
therefore, you need to swap it with a native FM caliper i guess.

ded for boost 148. Instead I have a 1mm offset, I tried 3mm 34t and it rubbed on the chain stay. This does not seem to affect my drivetrain, maybe time will tell. The Ingrid derailleur was icing on the cake, I got a great deal on it and so far so good on the drivetrain! I can't wait to take it to the trails in my area, it's a really fast, nimble bike!

Nice build, but The fake Ingrid and other fake components make it look like a fake Ferrari, wouldn’t be better to put simple shimano or sram components? We should never forget that behind these names like Ingrid or 5dev there are people and families, their sustainability depends on these small pieces of engineering

I see on their website a 2025 version, do we know what’s changed ?

Also mine arrived and it weights 678 grams as declared, 31,6 125mm.
Pairing was easy , utilization is also very easy and straightforward. Battery is hard to find here in Italy but I’m planning to test a 2032 or 2025

This looks EXACTLY like the new Orbea Oiz 2027 edition!

It's rather a canyon lux trail clone

i went for the Racework which is again available with a pretty good price, 31.6 x 125mm, i hope the declared weight (678gr) also includes the trigger, but i can't tell yet.

29er / Re: carbon short travel 29er - XL options?
« on: June 11, 2026, 05:56:34 AM »

A few days after I placed my order I get a message from the sales team that the XL is "still in development".   They are quoting more than 6 months lead time to finish the frame.   They are trying to push another model that they have available.   This is quite frustrating.
s.

wtf, that's not a serious way to handle customers.
which model they are referring to?

digging a bit into specs, the first 4 (meroca, riro, gmrtk and racework) look like they are all the same ELEVO or ELEVO-01 dropper, with 300mah battery and other specs exactly the same, the Seekrun has 400mah so this could make the small difference in weight of the S7.

12
The Riro is 646g + 52.3g in 31.6mm 125mm configuration. That's heavy.

31.6-100 :about 603g

the 100mm is more than i need

Im in the process of select a dropper from Ali
Here is what I can see :

Racework
I just found this on AliExpress:  | RACEWORK Wireless Electronic Dropper Seatpost 27.2/30.9/31.6mm Millisecond Response Mountain Road Bike Seat Post MTB Seat Tube
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIKNLeO

Meroca
I just found this on AliExpress:  | MEROCA Bicycle Wireless Dropper Seat Post 27.2/30.9/31.6mm Electronic Control Millisecond Response MTB Road Bike Seatpost Parts
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EI5b5KQ

GTMRK
I just found this on AliExpress:  | Wireless Dropper Seatpost Remote Control, Electric Height Adjustment Seat Post for MTB Enduro Bicycle,Quick Release Seatpost
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EvYTLGE

Riro
I just found this on AliExpress:  | RIRO Electronic Dropper Seatpost Wireless Bluetooth Remote 27.2-31.6mm Adjustable Height for MTB Mountain Bike Cycling Parts
https://a.aliexpress.com/_EIBYSUW

Any clue? They look all the same, riro seems lighter for the same size and stroke, meroca seems a rebranding of gmrk, racework the less expensive, anyone tried one of these?

Thanks

29er / Re: Any rumor of 2026 new releases?
« on: March 24, 2026, 03:13:49 PM »
can you explain clones versus copy versus original, open/ closed mold etc....? im still hazy in the chinertown world..

( would like to rplace my old Kona carbon hardtail with new school geo carbon HT !)

A clone is a clone of a major brand frame e.g. SPcycle M868 it's a perfect copy of the Orbea OIZ, HONGFU 358 is a clone of canyon lux trail. Open molds, all of them are open to be purchased by a bike manufacturer but as you can imagine you wouldn't launch an orbea clone in the market to avoid being sued, therefore you can ask Lightcarbon to make 1000 pieces of theirs LC918 or LC919 which are not a clone but an open mold where multiple bike brands can buy it and make good enough XC bikes. The same does Carbonda, mine FM936 it's not a clone but an original project made with NS bikes, hence you can buy it but also NS bikes and other brands offer the same frame on their bikes. Hope this clarifies but for sure a more detailed update could come from other forum veterans  ;D ;D
