Hi,

The chainstay protector actually came with the frame. It is the exact same model as the one from aliexpress. Unfortunately, it is too short and the chain still nicks the paint close to the chainring and the cassette. Moreover, it has started to peel and loose some pieces. I have ordered a chainstay protector for the nukeproof mega and i plan on modifying it a bit to make it fit. Someone else in this thread did that and it seemed to have worked well. I used a mega downtube protector on the frame and it fits perfectly and its holding up great, i am hoping i can achieve similar results with the chainstay.

Hope this helps!

BTW, i was wondering if other people using this frame and problems with pedal strikes? The BB is quite low and i find myself hitting my pedals quite often when climbing. Maybe i just suck lol

It doesn't seem to get loose for me, the bolt diameter is simply too small (aka not 10mm like it should) so the shock mounting washers as a bit of play vertically.

Another thing, i would recommend for everyone to take the time to remove all bolts from the linkage to clean and regrease the bearings. I have done it on my bike and noticed loads of carbon shavings in the linkage bolts and bearings. Over time these shavings seem to breakdown and grind the bearings and links so probably a good idea to look into it sooner than later.

And yes, i also notice that the solid Loctite was garbage.

Cheers.

When i lift the rear end of the bike up, i can feel there is a small amount of play in the rear linkage and a very small clunk noise can be heard. It is very small, but still there. I figured out like i said previously that the mounting bolt for the rear shock is a bit too small in diameter for the shock bushing, even though i am 100% i got the right size bushing kit. Does anyone else have that? Maybe it is a problem with my frame/hardware that came with it?

Cheers!

10*30 and 30*10mm is just a typo i believe, there is no such thing as a 10*30mm mounting hardware kit. I am running a fox dpx2 with a 10*30mm bushing kit and i have noticed a very small amount of play in the shock mount. I have also noticed that the rubber gasket that are supposed to be in contact with the frame don't touch completely and instead the metal bolt mount touches the frame.

Hey everyone!

First of all, huge thanks to everyone on this thread, the info i got here was super useful and valuable and made my life way easier.

My build is finally complete. Frame is a large, 160mm front and rear travel, 160mm dropper. Total weight is 32lbs.

The bike climbs exceptionally well. Super responsive and precise over technical uphill and really easy to pedal as well.

Going downhill with this machine is pure joy. It feels like my giant reign in terms of plowing through stuff, but is almost and agile and playful as my brothers trail bike that has 130/140mm travel.

Can't seem to post this if i include images, so i will see if there is another to include pictures.

If you have any questions let me know, maybe i can help!:)

Cheers!

The bike looks amazing man!!

I got some questions for you!

First what size did you go for? I am 6' and i went for a large...

What length dropper are you running?

How does is ride (Are you on a 29 or 27.5 setup?) I am wondering if its long wheelbase and slack HA makes it feel like a tractor when riding less steep terrain?

Finally, how much steerer tube do you need on the fork? I know the HT is 100mm on the large but how many spacers do you run?

Cheers,
Simon

Thanks for the reply, i'm happy to hear that, it was pretty much the only worry i had with this frame. I also wont get my frame before another month but i will post an update once i do.

Hi everyone! I am starting a build using this frame and i have a question concerning the linkage bolts that crack the frame when you try to loosen them. Someone in this thread mentioned that he couldn't take them off without damaging the carbon, anyone else got that problem? Also,
I would love to hear about how the bike behaves in different circumstances and see more pictures of your builds!

Cheers,
Simon

26er & 27.5 (650b) / LCFS947 build and info
« on: May 03, 2021, 10:07:45 PM »
Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum but i have to admit i have been reading posts from here for quite a bit of time now.
I am planning a new bike build using the lightcarbon LCFS947 enduro frame. I already saw one other thread that discussed that frame on the forum about a year ago and i was hoping to get some info on how the bike is and maybe reviews on it. Also, i'd like to hear about other peoples build and what components they decided to go with!

Ps: post some pictures of your build, i'd love to see them!

Cheers,
Simon
