Hello

I have paid my Hongfus using Alibaba platform and Visa.

Other China-frames have been PayPal or Alibaba/Visa.

I live in Europe and don´t know situation in US: customs, taxes etc.

Bank transfer is not common nowadays, but I have bought wheelsets from a small German wheel builder who uses bank transfer. Worked like a charm: payment and wheels.

Hi

When I contacted them using the e-mail my e-mail blocked their message first. When they realized it, they contacted me using WhatsApp. Have you checked the thrash mail inbox?

I think they only want to sell and other types of communication are not interesting.

Airwolf gave me the most frustrating customer service of my life.

My bottom bracket insert got loose and I got a new front triangle after months of waiting.
I paid for shipping.
The new front triangle lasted less than 300 kilometers and the insert got loose again.
After two weeks of trying hard the customer service told me the frame was in painting.
Then nothing happened.. only ghosting.
When I tried to enter the chat using my normal web browser and my name, I got no answers.
When I entered their web site using incognito or other IP address and looked for a new frame or part, the customer service worked just fine.. until I started asking for warranty.. then ghosting in the end.
Their e-mail doesn´t work by the way in the warranty cases.

I tried to get a new warranty front triangle for seven months and then the warranty expired.

Hongfu has the best customer service.

Hello

This is a good day to talk about this frame: Friday the 13th.  8)

I am still optimistic it will hold up. My frame is size L and I have put a layer of car wrap to protect the top tube. The protection is against scratches but maybe it can do more..

I had the same thing on FM138. I put a two millimeter headset spacer under the spacer bottom piece to lift it higher. Cables had still enough room to move. I hope the FM358 is no different.

Angle of the photo could be better, but the new one has a curve above the rear brake tabs. A 4-pot brake caliper fits in. The old one took only 2-pots.

Hello

I finally got the warranty rear swing arm. It has a different design compared to the broken one. I hope the newer is stronger.

The first posting in this topic (and Meinier bikes web site) has a geometry chart where the FL (fork length) is 530 mm.
For instance a Sid 120 mm has a 531 mm fork length.

I use 160 mm rear disc. After seeing the crack the frame has done 0 meters of riding.
I changed the bearings on RM Element, took the paint off and polished it. It weighs a bit more but feels like a low flying sofa  :)

Hello

I don´t want to be seen as a guy who (always) has frame breaking and warranty problems..

but here we go again:

In the end of May I loved riding the FM121 in the local sandy hills full of pine trees. One day I washed the dust covered bike and removed the rear wheel and saw it: just above the rear brake mount was a crack going around the seat stay. :(

Someone predicted in this topic last winter that FM121 has a weak spot there and I think he is right.

I contacted Tantan and sent pictures of the frame. Everything went well and got the message I get a new rear triangle.. but I have waited for it for 4 months now. They offered me a different color rear triangle after two months, but told them it has to be same.

More:

It may be wise to buy from a Aliexpress shop to get the best warranty. Many brands sell the frames cheaper on their own sites than on Ali, but Alis customer service is good and may get the warranty working properly.
