FYI - i contacted Tailfin to figure out if their rack fits on the LCR018-D.

Here is their response:

"From the details you provided, your bike will require the following parts:

Axle: Universal Thru Axle (using the 1.0mm part - included)

Adaptor: UDH Adaptor and Tailfin UDH Hanger (both included with the Tailfin UDH Adaptor Set)

Please replace the original hanger with the tailfin UDH hanger so the UDH Adaptor bolt will fit!"

Even if you are not US, this is a good suggestion- I always get one if I pick up stuff at the dry cleaner.

I used this when part of the steerer tube expander fell down the fork and wedged itself in there.

Well, my solution would be to shake the frame till it comes out. If it is not stuck in a place, it has to come out somehow.

Hi, yes I tried it with a random ztto fully integrated stem from ali. https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005008910085339.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.38ed5c5f400RqZ&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu

It worked, but I could not get the gap between frame and lowest part of the integrated parts, see picture, quite closed. And it was not easy to fix the play in the headset, but it worked.

I thank you for the additional information from Joy, I will try it again obviously :)

That would be awesome if you could help a brother out here. The Ortlieb Axle is a smart product, because it has a ton of spacers with it, so I can vary the length perfectly and with the right conicle spacer, it would also fit perfectly. https://at.ortlieb.com/products/thru-axle-m6-connector

I dont get why they dont just go for a more standard approach. Changing would be so easy.
What exactly are you looking for? Maybe i can help (if possible).

I imagine that a conical spacer in the right size can help fit the ortlieb axle. But I have no idea how to measure it out which dimensions it should have. If you have experience in that, this would super cool.

And maybe someone could help with a 3d print. I am lacking the technical finesse to figure out how to make the correct measurements, but I know there are people out there to help :). If I have an update on that, I will provide you with the files for the print.

The issue could be that the axle won't fit perfectly, because it is flush on the non drive side (see picture on the upper right side). The spacer which is included with the tailfin axle could fit or you find another one that fits. My Ortlieb trough axle for the ortlieb quick rack did not fit for example.

Unfortunately, the saddle is still causing problems. The seatpost stays in place after I greased the sliding surfaces of the clamp and the bolt, but the saddle tilts under load.
I’ve already tightened the clamp quite firmly, but I was careful because of the carbon struts (recommended torque: max. 5 Nm). Even so, the saddle tipped over when I hit a pothole. I haven’t used carbon paste yet.
What would you recommend I do next?
  • Tighten the bolts even more? (Unfortunately, a torque wrench won’t fit due to the design.)
  • Try carbon paste?
Do you have any tips?

I am not a medical professional...sorry...a professional bike mechanic, so take my next words with caution :):

Just torque it more - i also had the same problem and torqued it, till it was no problem anymore. Or chose a different saddle without carbon rails.

Of course.

Like I said, the seatpost was a topic on its own, but i managed it - bit more torque solved the seatpost slip and bit more torque solved the seat slipping from the rails. I did short tours with good power output and I did long tours with 8 hours riding time. It is a very comfortable bike (for me) and I like it a lot.
I am about 190cm (on a good day) with about 90cm innerseam length - fits very good with a 40x100mm  handlebar. Not very racey, which works fine for me.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but for my next bike I will opt for a normal round seatpost and no flush trough axles - I do like to change things over time, this is not straightgoing with the special measurements.

The colouration (raw glossy carbon) is so cool, I would chose that everytime!
