I received my frame today and I'm wondering about the spacer that is included.
As you can probably understand from this question, I'm not a professional bike mechanic  ;D

Anyone can tell where this spacer should be placed?

I'm about to order this frame, but still not sure about the design. I like the raw carbon look, but I already had a bike like that. So I would like to have something different.

I would like to see how it looks like if the black on the Eurobike design is changed with the galaxy colour.

Is anyone in here a bit handy with photoshop or something to 'design' this?
I tried with chatgpt, but I'm probably too stupid for this as I get something completely different every time  ::)

deadline day :D

joined 2 years ago, but more of a reader than a poster.
But thanks to all the contributors! I learned a lot here with building my bikes during this period.

Which type of cockpit are you running, integrated one piece or separate stem and bar?
I have found all three compression ring iterations from Velobuild being useless.
The only thing that helps is described by @zaphodbeeblebrox: microshims, cut to C-shape
I have recently moved to the Deda Superbox using the Deda compression ring, which seems to work fine, as well.
Still believe the issue is related to the compression ring supplied by Velobuild.

I have the integrated one piece HB.

And do you have some pictures of the installation

I have this frame since 2020 already.
I have been running a Mechanical groupset on it. Even though installation was a nightmare with the cable routing, I never had any issue with it once this was done.
But a couple of months ago I was able to get a good deal on an electronic groupset and I 'upgraded' my bike.

But I'm now having issues with some headset play.
I read already this was (is?) a common issue with this frame and I also read some topics that it's an easy fix with some spacers.

but could anyone briefly explain how to do this correctly? Preferably with some pictures where the spacer(s) have to be installed and how it looks like.

2nd, currently I have wrapped the di2 battery in some foam and clamped this in the seatpost. It's stuck for now, but I'm not sure if it will remain fixed after some bumpier rides. Is there any di2battery holder available for this type of seatpost?

I was about the finalize my order 2days ago when I got the notification that sales are on hold.
I have asked for the reason (too high demand, QA issue, IP issues, ... ), but they couldn't reply, but confirmed it wasn't a QA issue.

If it was a question about too high demand I would assume they prolongue their leadtime to get the orders in the book, or even communicate this reason. So I also don't think this is the reason of the suspension.
So I assume there are some IP topics that are being handled for the moment. but that's just my assumption based on the feedback and apparantly also Peter from Taiwaneisen has blocked all communication since a couple of days (as there are counterfeits, I can image this is being investigated). So all combined I have a feeling some investigation is ongoing on some sellers.

but my actual question as I was about to order. Can anyone point me in the direction of a similar frameset from this or another respectable seller? It doesn't have to be a SL8 copy, but a similar geometry is what I'm looking for.

After bought and build several Velobuild frames I would like to go ahead with this frame as a next project.
But as always, I’m doubting about the paintjob.

Does anyone has experience with an ice crack paint job? Is this the same quality as a ‘normal’ paintjob?
It costs 3times as much as a standard paintjob (90 vs 280) so I want to be sure that at least the quality is the same.
Any other opinions why not to go ahead with this paintjob, please give your comments.

I added a picture from a different frame to give you an idea about the paintjob if you are not familiar with this.

I don't think you will find an EU replacement.

Doesnt have to be the same system. Anything that fits will do for me.
But i have no idea where to look.

The cable stop plug (don't know what the official name is) is broken and I want it replaced. I can get a replacement from Chris but this will take a lot of time to get here. Does anyone know another webshop where i could order a similar part? Preferably a Eu based shop.
