Anyway, everyone was refunded and I cracked on with my life!

Quite amusing really, considering the number of people who are prepared to risk $1,000 on a counterfeit frame, but weren’t prepared to risk $10 or whatever it was to get a couple bought, sent to a professional, properly tested and have a report done.

I think some of them genuinely thought that if they didn’t get their $10 back, I was going to disappear off in my private jet to some sun-soaked island and live the good life 😂✈️🏝️.
Well looks like a few counterfeit sellers may have done exactly that already

That's a shame. I realy liked the post/idea when I stumbled on it last week. But you're not far off to conclude that there a bunch of very strange people out there. Good to let it rest and forget about it.

My current bike computer's finally starting to give up and looking at this.
Tend to just use maps and data collection but climb pro/ iclimb looks like an interesting feature.
I currently prefer to use my GPS without phone connection and just plug in to PC when I want to do uploads. How capable is the binavi/ air on its own?
Bonus question for this one- the sticky watts issue that Shane Miller highlighted for the binavi- did that transfer to binavi air? Does anyone know if the issues have been resolved?

I am running a BiAir Navi. Realy enjoy it. I do not use the spoken directions through my phone. Just use the notification and sound that something is coming up. (Sounds for a specific type of notification are selectable). Climbpro much better than on my Garmin 530. Sticky Watts I have not encountered. Run a Stages l/r PM.

How does it work exactly in your case? You turn on computer and have e.g 125m above see level and then it calibrates itself automatically?

Yes but only when you start riding/moving. It does not calibrate when I leave is laying around my house.

fo those who have this bike computer, can I ask if maps apre based on OSM or IGPsport own maps?
are ok for mtb, with singletrack? Could someone show photo of general looking of the maps?

It's OSM based but they are optimized by IGP. Therefore OSM cannot be downloaded 1->1 on the device.
MTB etc I have not tried.

I did the same as you did. Indeed it does not change and it is reading the wrong altitude. Here were I am living it is 1 m above sea level. It red yesterday 130m and today 45m. The auto calibrate does not work for me either even after riding. I only used it twice and the first time I manually corrected the altitude and did not bother to further test it. Now I used it for the second time and indeed it does not auto calibrate correctly.

Setting the altitude every time one rides is indeed a hassle. My suggestion is to wtite to them. They are very open to suggestions.
Be aware that until 25 Feb they have Chinese new year. Their response might be a little slow.

I already did wrote to them because of maps updates only work with Windows (Not Apple or Linux).
I also asked for a Magenta line for route indication instead of the green line currently available.
