No, I'm afraid not; some of the chrome plating came off the ratchets—specifically on the outer edge, and not on all of them. A few tiny flakes ended up on the paper towel while I was removing the old grease.

Thanks for the reply. They aren't exactly worn out; the chrome surface coating on the ratchet mechanism has simply flaked off—that's all. It's only on the outer edge and doesn't affect all 54 teeth; it's a minor issue. You can see the color difference between the grey metal and the chrome plating. I assume it's normal wear; the teeth themselves aren't chewed up. I took them apart because they were making a lot of noise, applied more Teflon-based grease, and the situation improved.

The spring are not all equal, some springs are not compatible with grooved spacer (it's a matter f 0,1mmm)
There are 4 different set of springs:
conical springs (old model)
cilindrical springs (with round wire)
cilindrical springs (with flat wire)
cilindrical springs (with flat wire "double loop")
+additional trick: spring on one side, teflon ring on the other one

Is the difference from 54 to 60 noticeable? Yes.

The crisper the sound (in garage) the higher the headace in long alpine descent...

if you match correctly you can manage the balance between drag/sound...

I don't understand. In the photo you see, I temporarily tried the MC and the crankset. The measured Q-factor is 155mm. In the SRAM Dub installation manual, it says to add a 3mm spacer to the 68mm BSA on the right. Installed. On the left, there's actually a gap of about 3mm. The chainline seems correct to me, or am I wrong? It's on the left that the crankarm protrudes too much. Or am I wrong?

I was thinking, what if I took the axle to a turner and had it shortened by 1mm on both sides? Assuming it doesn't bother me once installed.
