I am sitting on a Zipp 808 Firecrest front wheel, and the hub from the rear after the car wreck this summer.  I'm thinking I need to build that rear wheel back up and have a deep crit wheelset again.  Is there a Chinese clone of the current 808? All of the 80-90mm deep rims i've found are super narrow, like 17-19mm internal at most.  Is anyone aware of a 21-23mm internal width rim?

Well, after about 1300 miles on the speeder, I'm going to be upgrading to a SL8.  Got hit by a car a few weeks ago, and the insurance settlement is buying me a new bike.  No injuries, only carbon damage - Zipp 808 rear toast, frame and bars impacted, but able to ride home. 

I've had zero complaints about the bike, and haven't lined up at a race without someone asking about it.  Justin was also great to work with when purchasing.  Would buy again if/when I'm in the market for another Chinese frame.

Be careful with such rims in the mountains. Cornering on that is awful, and if the weather doesnt cooperate, you will get thrown around like crazy. In a downhill + curve + bad wind shenanigans... best of luck!

I live in a pretty flat area, and these wheels are pretty much only going to be used in crits and flat races.  My normal rides average only 500 ft of elevation per 10 miles tops.  The race this Saturday is a circuit - rolling gentle uphill into a 90 second long wall (9% average), followed by a straight DH for the next couple miles.  Flattens out and gets back to the rolling uphill again.  No wind forecasted.  I'm anticipating the straight descent to be pretty dang fast.  I'll take both wheelsets and decide what to race after a pre-ride on friday.  First race on the Speeder!

Maybe I can find someone with a 404 front that wants to trade and wind up with the 606 combo...  Time to talk to the triathlon folks!  Or just look to trade/sell and get some 50mm wheels.  But for $400, I couldn't pass it up.

The test ride last night was pretty windy, and it was nowhere near as bad as I anticipated.  Of course, the nice shallow Reynolds gravel wheelset will be my go-to when there's lots of hills to be climbed.

Just about ready to take on a maiden (outside) voyage!  Still playing with painting the bottle cages the same as the frame. There’s some small things to add still, but it’s currently 16.0 lbs, or something.something kg.
