« on: June 24, 2026, 10:56:42 AM »I started building this bike, and I might have a problem with the bottom bracket. I bought a ZTTO BB86. I can push the non-drive side in without any problems, but I can't do the same on the drive side. After I push the drive side in, there are about 4 mm left that need to be threaded in. The problem is that I'm not sure whether I should use that much force. Is it normal to need significant force to thread the last 4 mm, or could there be something wrong? That was my first BB when im assembling bike but inner seals broke. I changed with the shimano dura ace and fitted without any issues, now im using token ninja (original version of this ZTTO)
I'm using a socket wrench to install it because I can't tighten it with the ZTTO tool that came with the bottom bracket. It feels like it's too tight, which makes me think something isn't right. I'm worried about how much force it will take when it gets closer to being fully tightened, that i might crack the frame.
