Mondince is aware of the issue with the Crown Race and is sending a new version that allows for a smaller gap. They are very responsive. Kudos to them.

Sounds good, so its just a problem with the small metall crown race? Then maybe the fsa headset kit would fix the problem as well.

Yes. I don't know if the FSA headset would fix the problem as well.

For your information, it's purely a cosmetic issue, not a safety concern.

I'll give you an update as soon as I've tried it (today or tomorrow). I'm really looking forward to it.

Edit : Mondince has just sent me a video of the new crown race (curve inside the crown). It will fit perfectly.

I'm receiving mine today - curious to see/hear if this is specific to you, or all frames sent out to date have this problem.

So I had buddy who runs his own private OEM brand through Mondince put me in contact with them earlier this week. Truthfully I never really heard of Mondince until this forum. And nothing but high remarks from my friend. This was his idea that I connect with them.

Anyway, I'm working on getting a frameset for long term review. My suspicion though is the frame probably won't deliver until mid to late Summer. The overall geometry, pricing, and customer feedback of Mondince takes me back to the peak Chinertown years during the pandemic.

Yes I love the natural progression and increased exposure of Far East brands over the years. Of course that comes with price bumps. But I'll always have a tiny place in my heart for those $700-$1000 prices frames that have a history of being well made.

We know they overlap heavily with Long Teng. We know Long Teng OEMs for the likes of Cube, Argon 18, and more. So your friend's company is probably a mini Cube, aka yet another "brand" / western client that buys frames from OEMs. Afaik, nuance comes in with open / closed moulds, prototyping vs off the shelf layups and so on.
Mondince is a marketing / salesforce forward entity, with Long Teng being the factory. Maybe if you're Cube, you deal with Long Teng, and if you're small, you deal with Mondince.

Also, if you ask Alisa nicely, you can get that frame straight from Long Teng, which tells me it's highly likely to be the new open mould aero 2026 iteration, probably the successor to my own 268 that shows its age now.

Bromaxxing over.

Looking fwd to your review.

I also wrote to Jack. They're making a new cone using the CMC machine and will then send it by mail. I think from now on they'll be shipping the upgraded cone version. I'm curious to see if the FSA cone works. But I needed the upper part for the transition to the handlebars anyway.

Are you talking about getting an FM126 for review or a new / different aero frame from mondice?

Problem of crown race is solved by Mondince (attached pictures).

Guys, I am seriously considering that frame. I do 80% road and 20% compacted gravel road. Do you think that bike on 32C can handle that? Thinking of pairing with 50-55mm wheels with titaniiun spoked to get some compliance?

32c can do that. I usually do light trails on my 32c gp5k

That looks a lot better / actually right. Seems like only the crown race was shit which is good to know😅. Does anyone have something to say regarding ride feel etc.
