How much of a pita is the downtube bottle cage being mounted to the access hatch in practice? Does it rattle annoyingly? Is it likely to get worse with age/use? It does seem like a potential problem on a gravel bike exposed to rough terrain.
Still I guess you could just tape or glue the hatch shut if it is a problem. The whole storage box inside a CF frame seems a gimmick anyway.

Mine does rattle our of the box so im looking for the options to silence it. Will try rubber seal and see if it helps

Here's the chainring clearance with a 44mm Wuzei 4.2mm offset chainring with a SRAM Force E1 wide crankset.

It's just shy of 4mm clearance to the chain stay.
46T will fit fine, 48T might just fit into the space made for the chainring, probably with tight clearance.

Which size you guys recommend me?
Im 176/177 long with short legs inseam of 80cm

Thanks Florian. I also assume the BB needed with the wide E1 cranks was just an internal T47?

Cheers

Hi! Could you tell me, please, what colour is your frame? Is it solid purple? Does it have matt or glossy finish?

Quote from: tedzik3 on October 10, 2026, 03:19:17 AMI did this: I cleaned everything, bought a bolt, and shortened it so that when it's fully threaded into the seatpost wedge, it uses the entire length of the seatpost wedge thread. I lubricated the contacting parts of the seatpost wedge with grease, applied carbon paste to the seatpost and the inside of the frame where the seatpost wedge meets, and tightened it with a torque wrench to 7nm. I went for a ride on a rough, bumpy road and again had to tighten the bolt by about 1/4 turn to 7nm, but the seatpost wouldn't budge. I lubricated the bolt thread with grease, not threadlocker. I did the above according to the instructions for the Specialized Roubaix SL8, which also uses a seatpost wedge. Despite writing to them for several days, Spcycle has been silent and has received no response.

Did you solve your problem ?

I experience the same thing on my frame despite cleaning everything, using fiber grip paste and torquing to specs.

After everything I've written above and re-torquing it to 7nm, I went for a bike ride and it was fine when I got back. I didn't need to re-tighten anything because the bolt maintained a torque of 7nm. Importantly, and something I didn't mention earlier, I bought an Allen bolt made of stronger steel, specifically grade 12.9 DIN 912. We'll see what the next rides will tell us.

Funny you mentioned replacing the bolt.

I did the same thing and replace it with a bolt I had laying around that has an integrated washer.

I also bought some Silca Holdfast paste. That stuff seems to grip and hold the seatpost much (much) strongly than the Finish Line I had. I really recommend it.

Just need to go test the whole thing again to be sure it doesn't move anymore.

I forgot to mention the washer under the bolt. I shortened the bolt so that when screwed fully into the seatpost wedge, it would engage all of its threads, but of course, so it wouldn't stick out. I'm going for a bike ride this weekend and will see what happens after a ride. I'll let you know.

What is the tyre clearance for 2x shimano grx chainset?

Still 57mm? or less?

ncf

I'm running grx 2x mechanical and rear tire measuring at 56.5mm on the bike and have at least 5mm clearance everywhere in the back. 6mm allen key rubs at the chainstays.  :-X

Hello everyone,

I am currently also planning the assembly of an G028 and have decided on the following setup:

Rear-Derailleur:   - GX Eagle AXS Transmission
Cassette:          - XS-1270 10-52
Chain:             - Sram GX Eagle T-Type Flattop
Crankset:          - Sram Force D2 DUB Wide crankset
Chainring:         - Wuzei 44t
BB:                - Sram DUB Wide T47 85.5mm
Wheels:            - CSC 50mm with a 32mm inner width (41mm outer)
Brake levers:      - Sram Red D1
Calipers:          - Sram Red D1
Cockpit (likley):  - YICHORD 25mm Riser Bar 380x95mm (Ali) (Does anybody has experience with the handlebar already?)
Seatpost:          - ELITAONE 27,2mm Carbon Seatpost (Ali)
Tires:             - Schwalbe Thunder Burt 2.25
Saddle:            - Ryet 3D Carbon Honey Womb 143mm

Now, for the detailed planning, I have a few questions for those of you who already own a G028:

- How wide is the chainstay at the mounting points for the rear brake? I'm wondering what screw length fits here for   my Red brake calipers including the adapter for 160mm

- With a height of 192 cm and an inseam of 88 cm, I clearly fall into the range for frame size XL. However, since I am planning on a rather sporty look and a fast position anyway, and also find 'smaller' frames more aesthetic, there are still quite a few arguments for size L in my opinion. Maybe there are some tall riders among you who can help me with this point.

- Is there any difference with tariffs when ordering via Ali? On the SPCycle-Website the Frame is 638 USD including shipping, tariffs and metallic paint job. Right now on AliExpress its quit cheaper but even though shipping is almost 180 USD, there's a notification that tariffs might need to be paid still.

I'd be super happy for some helpful comments on this one !
Cheers,
Elias

I'm 193cm and I own an XL. Seat tube would be too short for me on L and I would need a seatpost 450mm+ to get the correct saddle height. Other measurements are as well just right for me on XL, anything smaller would be too small. This frame is not that big
