What's the status of riser road bars in 2026?

Well I received the Ullicyc T5 bar and that was a bit of a disappointment. The T5 does more or less give the same total stack to the hoods as the T4. I don't get how they make the drawings/specifications? Stem angle is especially important to compare in the same way. I feel it's a bit of a gamble buying new type of handlebars  and I will not use them. The T4 is better looking and much more stiff. Actually a really nice bar. Was hoping to be able to slam the T5 but no point. Will continue using the T4 bars for coming builds.

Sorry to hear that. I am also running the T4 on two bikes and I like them a lot. When I first saw the T5, I was excited for another option of riser bars.
I am quite tall, therefore everything that adds stack without a spacer chimney is appreciated to dial in bike fit.
The challenge with riser bar cockpits as it seems, is that there is no unified approach how to "specify" them.
Not even do you need to look at the drawings very carefully, some drawings (like the one of the T5) are just shite.
Even after contacting Ullicyc on AliExpress, I still have not fully understood their drawing - which unfortunately you confirmed.

I've also received the Ullicyc T5.  I can't understand the T4 drawing*, so I won't try to compare them.  The T5 appears to match its drawing, which gives me the extra rise I need when sketched in CAD.

They seem plenty stiff.

I am a bit disappointed in the overall quality.

The outside, at first glance, looks very nice.  Looking closer, there's various sharp edges at the cable openings that will need some fettling.

Looking at the inside with a borescope shows various bits of fiber loose and what I think is a very resin rich area where the stem meets the bar.  I'll admit to never have before looked inside a set of carbon bars for comparison.

The T4 drawing shows a 7 degree stem angle, that's visually just shy of 90 degrees, measured from an apparently random reference line.

These two (actually seem to be the same) just showed up on Ali.

Some DIY trigonometry or CAD required to figure out the actual rise they give at different stem lengths. They claim 25 mm rise, but it's obviously going to be a function of the stem length. I can't understand why the Chinese bar companies can't produce a clear, easy to understand drawing.  For me, that really takes away confidence in their design engineering ability.

Is there a way on this forum to hide ugly URL's with a friendly label?

More interested to see what shifter transition is like and if any of these come with a longer reach for an actual aero hoods position (rather than just to fit people who need to do some yoga / go to the gym)

Takiyaki

Mine came in.... they weigh ~291g. Kind of bums me out when Tavelo Rise integrated bars weigh less but I need to dial my fit before committing to integrated bars again. But they seem nice and decent quality.

Just noticed the Ullicyc T6 on AliExpress, that seems to compare to Hudud, Rpantahi and Yichord riser cokpits
As usual, Ullicyc offers MJF printed headset adapters

LEt me clear that, T5 is 40mm Rise and T6 is 25mm right? are these dimensions true or not?

crazyravr

To me seems that the new T6 design would be a better buy with the lower drop and less reach. Also, the 25mm rise seems like it would actually be achievable here, how much more that is from the T4... who knows. Someone with both could install them and simply measure from the floor to the top of the bar where you hold the shifter hoods.

I have both the Ullicyc T4 Ultra 380mm x 110mm (the photo is from a previous bike); I now have it on another bike without spacers. And the T6, the Rpantahi Air Rise 380x95mm that I bought, I have mounted on a gravel bike.

The Rpantahi raises the shifters more than the Ullicyc T4. The Rpantahi isn't as stiff as the T4 Ultra.

Could you please explain further? Could you share some photos?
Against T4 with -7° and 13 mm rise, the T5 should provide much higher positioning.

I have found this kind of commenc due to Tavelo Rise handlebar on Reddit Discussion, Do you think that is possible that is way less than declared rise?

"The Tavelo Rise realistically only has 10mm of rise unfortunately. -10 degree angle negated around 4mm of the 20mm rise and the hood to shifter drop is so shallow that to get your shifters to be level you lose another 3–4mm at least."

You put the riser bar on a gravel bike??? Wow...... I would never have that much trust to take this off road.

Yes, I've already done about 3 rides and I've taken it on technical single-track trails that aren't really meant for gravel, and it has performed great. The headset hasn't developed any play. The top part is stiff, and the bottom isn't as stiff as the T4 Ultra, but it works well for me, since that's where I hold on for descending and it smooths things out a bit. So far, I'm delighted with it. I'll report back if anything comes up.
