I asked him on saturday whether the frame was going to be shipped this week (as it has been 'in the painting shop' since the 6th of May ) he replied today  'yes ,we can send out this week'

Going for the 17th week of waiting for a replacement, seriously overdoing it now

Guy is throwing me some curveballs aswell with groupset delayed endlessly. And I asked him for sapim spokes. Everything ready for shipping. Now I get the question if pillar is ok. Guess custom stuff isn't really an option and they're too afraid to say no.

My frame and bars were shipped last Thursday, it was the 420/100 bars so I think it was slightly delayed being sent out. Shipping through XBD/DPD, on the website it says 5-10 days but what's other peoples experience with delivery timeframes? I'm assuming longer as the DPD tracking number says they have the details but not the package.

It's the last piece to arrive, I've got everything else waiting to built up.

Congrats! Lucky you . It's weird though, I ordered mine on April 17th (so almost two weeks before you did) also with 420/100 bars and mine is not shipped yet....  . It's good to hear that they are shipping orders though!

I'm reading on other forums that people that ordered later got the frame shipped earlier for some reason, bit all over the place. As Chris originally put it, mine was meant to be ready by the end of March and delayed ever since, which is frankly ridicolous. Who knows what they're up to, but for sure I'll watch myself from recommending Velobuild for customer service, aside from Chris being overall responsive

Chris (or the whole team using the name Chris) is actually quite responsive indeed! Which other forums do you refer to? Always interested to read some more experiences. Thanks!

 

He reply to me, the delay is because the 420/110 is the reason of the delay

He just replied that they are going to repaint the damage on my frame and hope to send it our before next Wednesday. He agreed to share the pictures of the repair before shipping. We'll see.

We'll see, I do hope that'll be the last delay.

Does anyone know of other websites/companies where the vbr168 is sold, even under other name, in a similar fashion of the vbr099/Workswell WCB-R-268 Disc / Tantan ttx21?

I was wondering the same thing. I'm really starting to like the thought of doing another build with this frame. Sounds like Velobuild is going through new frame growing pains though. I see a ton of stuff on Aliexpress listed as "SL 7".

I had the same question before I decided to place my order for the 168 (mine's waiting for the 400/90 bar).

So far, I haven't found anyone else who sells the same frame as the 168.

My conclusion from my, very limited, research is that the 168 wasn't sourced from the same designer or manufacturer as the 099 (actually, I might suspect that the 099 and all of those 268s are coming from Workswell; they have a pretty consistent in frame design, the presentations, and product numbering). Instead, the 168 is probably sourced from the same designer/manufacturer as the R-177 and GF-002 (their geometries illustrations are similar and they are coming with the same handlebar -- which is different from 099's).

Hi, I ordered an VB-R-168 the 7th of June and paid by bank transfer. I'm a little worried because they say they have not receive it yet and will let me know when it arrives. Anyone with a similiar problem? I asked my bank and the transfer is well done and sent the receipt to velobuild.

I'm not sure if I should change the size I ordered. I'm 171 cm tall and 80cm inseam.

Velobuild recommend me size 52 and 400/90 handlebar.
Specialized size calculator recommend me 54 size that comes with 420/100 handlebar.

What size would you choose?
