Both sides broke in the same spot

Yikes! The fact that these breaks are in different spots is even more concerning...like the CF they are using or process is bad?

What does lightcarbon say?

Waiting for their full response.  They were super responsive so I want to give them the chance to correct it.  If they have a new rear triangle that would be a great solution.  The frame seems very thin and spindly for the leverage forces that are taking place.

The rider is about 190lbs and we had to run a 650lb spring to get 30% sag.  This frame is definitely at the limit of the leverage curve.

So I heard back from light carbon on this issue. They are going to replace the frame with the new version or updated version under warranty.  I was given a time frame of middle of October.  I was told they are doing additional testing on the frame and a stronger rear swing arm will be made.  One cool feature is the new version of the frame will have down tube storage under the water bottle mounts.

Not a great situation to be in but I can't really ask for a better resolution from Light Carbon. As it stands I am very happy with the process and excited to see the new frame.  I will post an update when I have more info

I'm 185 lbs and run 450lbs springs on my Rocky Mountain bikes (which have a very favorable leverage curve) and 550 lbs on my Scott Ransom (which has a trash leverage curve). Running a spring on this frame is daring in itself, and running a 650lbs spring on a 190 lbs rider is absolutely bonkers.

I ended up going with a different frame which i had asked about.  this was a customers frame and they ended up purchasing a name brand enduro frame while they waited.  So we switched to a 918 XC frame and LC was able to send that right away.  Not sure who your contact is but have you reached out and they have not responded, or you just have not heard from them?  I was told November for the delivery of the new rear triangle for my warranty case.  so i would be surprised if it was ready now.   if you have not done so, i would reach out and ask politely what the status is.

I have received info that the new frame is ready for shipment.

Have they provided any pictures or info of what they changed or what is different with the new frame?  Are they sending you just a rear triangle or a whole new frame?  please post pictures when you receive the frame.

alexhell

No information yet, just that my frame is ready for shipment. I'll post an update soon. Not sure what I'll do with it. I don't really trust it anymore.

Have received the new frame.
Changes i can see. Stachbox under the water bottle.  Re designed linkage between seat stay and frame. Same weight.  Did a new measure and got 160mm rear travel on old and new frame. Dont know that to do with it now. Cant really sell it and im not to convinced that it will work depending on that there's no changes in levrage ratio
