All forks with QR code on the steerer tube running around 340g are at risk.
3 forks are reported so far, tantan changed the supplier for the fork for a reason!

The new forks are not only heavier at 400g but also have different thread inserts etc.

Right now I'm still discussing to get a fork replaced, disgusting

The X68 is dead! Long live the X68! 😂

Sorry, there's one more question I have in mind before really getting into it. What about the front end (headset, spacer, etc.) - is there everything similiar to the genuine one? Maybe I would go with an original bar/stem and a better headset. Do you know if everything fits?

Have a nice weekend,
thx

If someone has crackles in the Botom Bracket, I have used Tefon on my thread and the cracks have disappeared.

Yes, everything fits.

is it necessary to change the Steering Header Caps and Cockpit Spacers with original one (S222500010)  or the one provided are good enough?

I changed for the genuine ones for aesthetic and fitment with the bars nothing more as I though they would work better as there was a gap compared to my genuine bars.
Hopefully fitting  a new set of bars to the X68 this week

thanks for the feedback, looks good with the original one.

Which handlebar will you install on it? the one provided is not good?

The ones provided are fine, the cap might require some sanding on the bottom side where it contacts the headtube as it may rub a bit and wear the paint. Just put some 180 sandpaper under it and move it around to clean it up.

Like Glepore said the one provided are fine.
I have decided to size up from 110cm back to 120cm and will be trying out another bar instead

My bike is mostly built and ready to hit the road. Probably will try a short ride this week.

I believe I'm one of the few with a 58 frame and also a heavier rider 90-100kg (depending if im in/off season). Roads here are also shit for a G7 country.

Frame/fork will be tested... will report back...

the bars provided are actually the one thing that, in the case of my kid's bike at least, had a couple of slight differences from the actual Rapide cockpit. the first and obvious difference being the lack of dimples on the bar top but the more noticeable difference (to me) was the drops of the bars have a slightly altered bend.

there's a slight gradual slope to the end caps on the Tan Tan bar vs what feels to be a more flat section on the Rapide. visually it's very minimal from a distance and you can only really notice it when the bikes are side by side, or in my case, muscle memory from chewing the stem on the real thing.

p.s. i had no problem with the transition cap rubbing on my kid's frame. it definitely a snug fit between the back of it and the top of the top tube but had no rub. not sure if we got lucky of if they had made some manufacturing adjustments? it's an easy fix regardless.

glepore

The latest releases of the Rapide Cockpit lack the dimples. Sander and I went around on this many many pages back.

Just checked my fork, it is indeed the early version with the inserts that lack the inner flange etc. Its been robust so far, but will keep an eye on it.

I feel stupid for asking but is this a single bearing or the upper and bottom both? Went through the page with translator and came out none the wiser.
