Looks dangerous, you could try a little heat on the bolt to soften up the lock tight.
Doesn't look great for future bearing maintenance.

Have any of you who've built your frames run into an issue with these pivot bolts? The nut end of them is only held in place by the carbon at the corner of the rear triangle and it looks like it'll crack when I go to loosen them. All the other pivot bolts I've removed so far have been really tight also with tons of blue loctite on them.
If I wasn't planning to paint the frame I would just leave them as they're clearly pretty bomber and don't seem like they'd ever come loose.

I'm curious what your plan is for frame prep.

I have one of these on order also, and I also want to paint mine. I'm looking at the Spray.bike paints. I plan on using the carbon primer - but I'm wondering if the factory surface needs much prep.
I am assuming 800 grit wet sand and then ready to go.

Maybe to release these bolts you can either dremel a slot and use a flat head or drill some holes and use a spanner, something to give you purchase on that captive nut other than the carbon?

I stripped and repainted a Carbon genius. I used Spraymax 2K epoxy primer. I don't think I would use anything but this.
Color coats by Montana Gold, 2K clear again from Spraymax.

The 2k prime and clear products are the important part. The color coat could be whatever you wish.

finally got 90% of the parts - a mixture of some parts I had left-over, some 2nd-hand stuff and bit and pieces of some new stuff.

I decided to do a vinyl wrap, quoted $200 for it.

Looks great! I'm going with a similar approach. Which headset did you go with? Assuming it's an ZS type? Last piece I have to order since I didn't notice the frame doesn't come with one like the LCFS91.

yep the zs type coz the steerer for the lyrik has been cut too short so thats the only one i can get fix it with.

I've ordered colors from spray.bike for my frame and am planning to just wet sand then paint like you mentioned.

Update on the captive nuts: the carbon cracks immediately on loosening the pivot bolts, light carbon has told me they'll send me replacement seat stays. If they're the same design I'll probably end up machining new nuts with 6mm heads so I don't rely on the   carbon anytime I want to disassemble the rear triangle.

The bike is almost finished. A chain and some adjustments left before I can test-ride it. I am happy that I choose a 120 mm dropper for the size L frame. Im 184 cm tall and it would not have worked with a higher dropperpost.

All things now put together.  I have a 120 mm dropper-post, I will most likely replace it with a 150 mm, there is space for it. The Marzocchi Bomber CR is a bit difficult to get in place and to adjust the spring compared to a air damper, the coil works against me. But when all adjustments are done its no problem, then the Marzocchi fight is over. I  haven't taken the bike into the woods yet, but my first impression is that it fells a lot like my LCFS958.

Hopefully all adjustments are done before next weekend so that the first trail test can take place.

Just received mine two days ago. Quality looks good. The only drawback is that my Fox Factory DHX2 shock does not fit. The diameter is too large. Does anyone have experience with the installation of a Fox X2 in the frame?

I received mine 5 days ago, built it with a mix of new and reused components (carbon wheels from lightcarbon, fox36, fox dps, eagle gx groupset).

I had my first ride yesterday. It feels stable and maneuverable.  I like the way it rides, but my reference point is very limited (moving up from an fm-xc181).

Some observations on the build, that could help others:
  - the lower pin for the rear shock was stuck in place. I had to push it out with another pin and mallet.
  - the top opening of the head tube had some (epoxy?) drip that I had to sand away before pressing in the press-fit cups. BTW, I'm glad that I order the whole press-fit headset from lightcarbon, this way I knew that I had the right parts, and it was cheaper that getting them locally.
  - I found it very hard to install the plastic cover of the opening for the rear break line in the rear triangle. It took a lot of "convincing".
  - my 150mm OneUp V2.1 post fits just barely for me, given the insertion length (frame size M, i'm 171 cm)

Wendy sold me a similar one (no zitto brand) for $10, and clearly no additional shipping fees.
I also added a spare derailleur hanger to my order. It turned out that they included 2 anyways, so I have 3 now.
It will likely turn out useful, as it seems the type of hangers that snap very easily.

Today I had my first ride on the LCFS947 and its really a great bike. It climbs extremely well and is super stable on descends. Its a long bike so it feels a little slower throwing around rocks and tight trails. I have a Marzocchi Bomber CR on it and it works great. But its very, very tight so I cant adjust the spring by hand, I need a little tool.

Tomorrow Im taking my LCFS958 for a ride to get a fell of the differences and to start finding out if I prefer one before the other.
