Thanks for the reply, i'm happy to hear that, it was pretty much the only worry i had with this frame. I also wont get my frame before another month but i will post an update once i do.

Hey all I'm the one who had that issue with the linkage bolts, LightCarbon is sending me replacement seat stays under warranty with their fix. Wendy mentioned something about making the nuts captive so they can't move in the housing on the seat stays. Can't comment on how it'll work yet as I haven't received the replacements so far.

I did end up finishing the build anyway just to see what it looks like while I wait for those replacements. I went with spray.bike for the paint and did it myself.

First what size did you go for? I am 6' and i went for a large...

What length dropper are you running?

How does is ride (Are you on a 29 or 27.5 setup?) I am wondering if its long wheelbase and slack HA makes it feel like a tractor when riding less steep terrain?

Finally, how much steerer tube do you need on the fork? I know the HT is 100mm on the large but how many spacers do you run?

I just got my frame in recently as well

Although I think I might have been sent an incorrect bolt for mounting the rear shock. The one on the left seats inside the bearing properly and covers it completely. While the one on the right doesn't go in as far and leaves a gap.

EDIT: turns out there was just washer really jammed on it. Managed to pry it off and everything is good now.

To get ok clearance with the Marzocchi Bomber CR i did a small modification on the coil and damper. I grinded of about 3 mm on the backside and now its all clear

Thanks for posting all your build updates - just had a question about the coil you're running. Did you have to increase the spring rate significantly from when you used the Marzocchi on a prior bike? The leverage curve of the 947 looks very steep with a very high starting ratio - like a Santa Cruz V10 or Nomad - just curious as I'd like to try a coil myself on a build and the info might help other folks as well. I'm looking to try an EXT Storia with a short 105mm coil, or a coil from SAR that's around the same length 105-110mm  Thanks again!

And for your Qs:

I'm 6'2" and went for a large, the frame size has felt great so far.

Dropper is a 150mm from PNW, you could possibly get away with a 170mm from OneUp as they have the smallest insertion depth IIRC but I didn't want to chance it.

I've got 29 wheels on it and love how it rides, I know some folks like the snappy handling of smaller wheels and shorter front ends but that's not for me. The geo definitely shines when it gets steep and especially when it's chunky, I've got a 170mm Ribbon Air in the front so it feels like it can plow through anything. As for feeling like a tractor, I don't find it sluggish on flowy stuff or pedaling-heavy sections. However, it does have a ton of trail with the long front end and you absolutely notice it when turning, especially at low speeds. I notice it most when slowing to navigate trees that would take out my bars if I'm not careful. That is the tradeoff of the slack HA and I feel it's worth it but it's something to keep in mind.

For the steerer mine is real short, I don't know what its cut to exactly but I run 25mm of spacers and a 34mm tall stem.

All things now put together.  I have a 120 mm dropper-post, I will most likely replace it with a 150 mm, there is space for it. The Marzocchi Bomber CR is a bit difficult to get in place and to adjust the spring compared to a air damper, the coil works against me. But when all adjustments are done its no problem, then the Marzocchi fight is over. I  haven't taken the bike into the woods yet, but my first impression is that it fells a lot like my LCFS958.

Hopefully all adjustments are done before next weekend so that the first trail test can take place.

Hey Stefan, have you managed to put a 150mm dropper in there?

I'm 182mm and that insertion length from the geo chart looks suspicious. Maybe you can measure the actual max insertions?

I haven't tried yes, Ive settled with a 120 mm dropper. I have got used to it. If you want a 150 mm dropper you have to find the right one, the shortest one...

Build started - she's on the stand, with shock and bearings installed.
Forgot how to do a headset properly, learned that shock bushings are a PITA, and figured out how to do internal routing and Cushcore+tubeless for the first time. Lots of hard learning, but I'm getting really excited for the final product. X-Fusion 150 mm dropper - a bit large for the space, but we'll see how well it rides.

New here, just wondering anyone tried doing a full internal cable routing on this frame or any other with FSA's ICR headset or similar.
