Building another LCFS947, this one in size M. But cassettes and rear derailleurs are impossible to buy for the moment. (Shimano SLX) So this is as far as I get right now.

Yeah, I had to use a SunRace 12 speed cassette and KMC X12 chain for my Shimano 12 speed setup because the wide range Shimano cassettes are so difficult to find…

Any Dropper issues with the medium frame?

Any Dropper issues with the medium frame?

I am running a Rockshox Reverb 31.6 OD by 355mm with 100mm travel on a medium and it fits me perfectly.  I am 5'-6" with about a 30" inseam.  I have the insert portion bottomed out and the extended position is right where I want it.  The drop position also clears just right.

Keep in mind that different model droppers have a different overall length which will cause the insert depth to matter significatntly.  The frame insertion depth is about 5" on a medium frame and it bottoms on the hose attachment not the edge of the cylinder.  I changed my hose connection from the connectamajig to the lower profile rev C and probably gained a fraction of an inch in insert depth.

Your build looks great! Btw, you can buy OEM Shimano parts on aliexpress. I've bought 7100 and 6100 derailleurs and they are original for sure.

For those with the shock bolt play: A temporary solution that I have done is to fill the inside of the shock sleeve and cover outside of the bolt with heavy automotive grease. This has reduced the sudden force of the shock unloading and transmitting it to the bolt.

Light Carbon has offered to send a bolt but only if I cover the shipping cost. $46 for just a bolt seems... high. I may have to wait until they release a new frame so that I can have it shipped together.

Had my first ride on this frame thanks to the help of this forum. This is a medium frame with a 150mm one-up v2 dropper; I am 5 10,” and the seat is raised just a tad above the max insertion of the frame. This frame was ordered in January 2022, and there is no play in the rear shock bolt. My goal was to build this bike for around $2500 cad, which seemed impossible initially, but after I got the wheelset off a new Marin rift zone for $100 and a newly rebuilt lyric for $450 on the marketplace,,, I pulled the trigger. I believe it cost around $2800 with me making some splurges here and there from my local bike shop instead of buying online.

From my short ride today, I am stoked about how it rides. My other bike is a large 2021 Marin rift (not related to the wheelset), and I feel minimal compromise, if any, riding this larger travel frame. More to come after it has adequately been tuned and more time on the saddle.

Parts:
2019 lyric with charge 2.1 RCT 3
Rock shock deluxe rear shock
ZTTO 4pot callipers
Shimano XT m8100 levers
Shimano rt64 rotors
Maxxis minion dhr 2.4 front and rear
Shimano dear 1x12 groupset (Ali express)
Ali express stem
Ali express crankset
Ali express pedals
XLC bars
MTB volt seat
One up v2 dropper and lever

I’ve got about 250 park miles on mine and it is an absolute brute. Enjoy it!

:'( Slacking on finding a downtube protector finally caught up to me. Kicked up a rock at the park today. Looks like it just gouged out some carbon, no big cracks. I'll probably take out the bottom bracket and feel around or get a little scope camera. It still feels solid around and on the mark. Trying to decide if I should try to get a new front triangle, or go for something entirely new.

Yikes... that sucks.
If you do get a new front triangle, the "Salsa Down Tube Protector Blackthorn and Cassidy Carbon - 1563" protector fits well

There's generic downtube protectors on ebay/aliexpress as well. Nukeproof dissent protector kinda works also, but it doesn't cover all the way to the edges.

I would try to patch it up with a carbon fiber repair kit that can be had on Amazon for $50.  It is just 2 part epoxy with carbon fiber fabric.  Prep the area with alcohol and knock off any loose paint.  Make a slurry with the epoxy kit and some chopped strands of carbon fiber and apply it to the damaged area.  Wrap it tightly with some shrink wrap to compress and allow it cure.

I looked into this, actually doesn't seem like too difficult of a repair. But there's no kits in Canada that are cheap. The Amazon ones are 100+, and I checked to buy the items individually and it'd be 150ish.

But Wendy @lightcarbon sent me an invoice for a new front triangle for $432 shipped. Pretty tempted to just go with that. Little bit more expensive but then I won't ever be concerned about it. Plus a downtube protector haha.
