Hi Community,

I am currently looking for a wheelset for my aero setup.
Delivery to Germany.

I have currently identified the Elitewheels Edge (https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005004767705476.html?gps-id=pcStoreLeaderboard&scm=1007.22922.271278.0&scm_id=1007.22922.271278.0&scm-url=1007.22922.271278.0&pvid=111ebf40-5f6f-43ad-b4ea-3f81c69c7edc&_t=gps-id%3ApcStoreLeaderboard%2Cscm-url%3A1007.22922.271278.0%2Cpvid%3A111ebf40-5f6f-43ad-b4ea-3f81c69c7edc%2Ctpp_buckets%3A668%232846%238115%232000&pdp_npi=3%40dis%21EUR%21938.26%21694.31%21%21%21%21%21%40211b600d16904410479265814e0c61%2112000030399465986%21rec%21DE%214627672901&spm=a2g0o.store_pc_home.smartLeaderboard_2006113525867.1005004767705476&gatewayAdapt=glo2deu) as my favourite.
They are VERY affordable at around 600 euros / $550 - including tax and shipping.
And are supposedly very light and even stiff.

Does anyone here have any recent experience with the wheels?

They are only available on Aliexpress and not on the official Elitewheels site.

Otherwise, I would be very grateful for other suggestions in this price range?

I had some "Lightcarbon" wheels (https://www.lightcarbon.com/lightcarbon-road-wheels-c52db-ratchet-hub-disc-brake-road-carbon-wheels_p218.html)  in mind (52DB-RD28-55C-1423 Disc - Sapim CX-Ray - centre lock 12/100mm TA 12/142mm - 1540g - US$469 + shipping taxes US$147 = TOTAL US$616 = 567 €)
But these only have a rim height of 55mm and are a bit heavier :-P

I do NOT want carbon spokes.
Otherwise, as described in the title: approx. 65 mm height / tubeless / min. 21 mm innerwidth.
and preferably as light and stiff as possible :-)

thank you for your help!

no one? :(

Well, I'm currently looking for something similiar except I'd stay with 50-55mm and I'd also consider carbon-spokes. Thanks for your link to the elite wheels, they seem to be the best offer I can find so far. I'd also be interested in other peoples experiences, but cannot contribute yet.

I would actually prefer 23mm innerwidth though. Anyone any ideas?

I am looking for the same wheelsize. I found this wheelset with similar dimensions.

But no experience with this dealer.

Best regards to Germany

These are almost 300g heavier than the Elite above. That seems too much, even for the lower price.

How about Light bicycle WR65? You can spec them with few different hubs, they are 25mm inner width, 32mm outer width

I have the elite edge wheels but the 50mm variant. Only done approx 400km so far but they have been flawless.

Weight is as advertised and very impressive for the cost.

Happy to answer any specific questions.

I'm seeing this at 740 USD. Which would put them in line with Farsports.
I dont understand the carbon they use, it seems confusing on purpose. But if it weighs 1495g in 65mm, it's great. I got a farsports quote of 1495g for 58mm tubeless, it's a material difference in depth / material used. Same spokes (pillar wing 20). Except my quote has 24mm inner (30mm external), and yours 21mm.
Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

it was my conversion error (EUR -> DOLLAR).

When you put it into the cart - and put the sellers shipping method.
Then you will become the bestprice incl. shipping and tax.
But now it is a bit more expensive as before a few days.

Now 615 Euro / 647 Dollar... :-/

How about the FarSports Gravel wheels: https://www.wheelsfar.com/gravel-wheelset-built-with-bitex-straight-pull-disc-hub-p0059.html

Deepest they go is 58mm but seem to meet your other criteria?

Contact them by email directly. PM me if you want, i can give you the contact of my sales rep, she may give you the prices i get. Allegedly, i now get OEM pricing. I still think it's expensive, but at least they're good wheels :)

Secoud try:

Wider wheels with deep section must be heavier. In my opinion the elitewheels are worth it. ZIPP or Enve wheels are significantly more expensive.

Hello community,

I have a related question as the one of the topic starter:
I'm looking for a Chinese frameset and I'm considering to combine this with a set of carbon wheels from the same supplier. Requirements for me are similar as discussed here.

Quite some frame suppliers also offer carbon wheels, often with customization options for rim depth, spokes (pillar, sapim), and hubs (Novatec, DT Swiss). I had a detailed look Tantan and Airwolf and both have a broad selection of aero wheels. They sell around 400-700 usd depending on material choice.

Does anybody have an opinion on the quality of such wheels? I would think it is an OK choice regarding safety/reliability but not top notch for performance or weight. Will they be inferior to a set of Elite wheels?

Elite wheels are not the gold standard of quality wheels, first of all.
Neither tantan nor air wolf will sell you garbage. I suggest if you can to make sure you get T800 carbon and not T700, and pillar wing 20 or sapim CX Ray spokes. Think also about the tyres you want to use and the corresponding rim width you should choose. T700 and cheap spokes will save you 100-200 USD but wheels matter greatly on a bike.
