New Gravel Frame Ican Graro

Thanks for the answers on here, so here's my final build:
decided on this bike for it has basically the same geo as my winspace slc2.0, just with higher stack, which means I can run it slammed

Groupset: GRX DI2 11spd
Wheels: DT Swiss PR1600 road wheels (had them lying around, will probably be replaced by carbon ones in the future)
Tyres: Schwalbe Thunder Burt 2.1" -> measure 48mm on these 18mm internals rims, 4-5mm clearance all round
Casette: 11-42 XT
Chainring: Alugear 46t – has 1.5mm of clearance to the chain stay on standard GRX chainset, so standard chainline.
Stem: Deda Zero
Handlebars: FSA Energy Super Compact 400mm (380 at the hoods)
headset: used the Ritchey Logic-E internal expander and top cap as ICAN didn't want to send one; the top bearing sits pretty low in the frame, so a standard Aliexpress top cap didn't fit.
bottle cages: to come: TI from Aliexpress

replaced most of the absurdly heavy mounting bolts (40g) with lighter ones (12g)
on a positive note: the brake mounts were faced by ICAN, that was unexpected.
Shipping was very fast, frameset arrived 4.5 weeks after ordering (had to be sent from China and finished first, as was out of stock in EU)

Payed 785€ for the frameset (Debby sent me a 80,- discount), got the GRX DI2 used for 630€, so in total the build was well below 2000€ if I factor in the wheels and small bits and bobs. pretty happy with that.

Price wise and logically (lot of hills and also fast flat gravels/roads around here) the Shimano would be the right choice for me, but I would also like to try out the SRAM groupset (never used one before). Also still not sure if 2x12 or 1x13 but that is just a different question.
The only issue I encountered with the Shimano build is the bottom bracket. This would be my first bike build and I know that the size would the T47i-24 85,5mm. Maybe I'm just blind but I can't find any option for this BB that doesn't cost hundreds of euros.
Does anyone has a recommendation, or experience with Shimano compatible BBs for this frame?

cannot help you on the groupset question, but regarding the BB: I'm using this Miche one (https://www.bike24.de/p1896011.html), which is okay price wise and spins extremely well. So I'm very happy with it and doesn't cost a kidney.

Apologies for yet another question, but I’m trying to finalize my groupset choice, especially with my frame expected to arrive in about two weeks.

I’ve never used SRAM before, and I’m considering going with the Force E1 groupset paired with a 48/35 chainring. From what I understand, this is a road-oriented setup, are there any potential compatibility issues I should be aware of? Chainline, crank width, etc?

My other option is the Force XPLR E1, but I’d really prefer to stick with a 2x setup if possible.

Hi everyone.
 I have gone through all the posts in this thread.
I also ordered the whole set.
I just have a question regarding the installation of the Sram bottom bracket.
 I have a 1x12 Force 40T crankset Road, an Apex 11-44 cassette, and a Rival xlpr crankset. The crankset is Road, and I understand that normally I should just take a regular Road bottom bracket and there won't be any problem? From what I have seen, everything should fit. I don't want a mullet, etc.
Should the chain line be okay?

Just tried to build up my winther bike. The graro frame in size 58.

Just tried to mount a Magene PES 515 cranskset with a 42t (zero offset) chainring, the teeth touches the frame...

The BB is Token T47 for hollowtech II and I have mounted the "internal" spacers



Any suggestions or should i just go for the Sram Rival 42t power meter (left side) crankset?

I have just looked, the p515 has a 44.25mm chainlink versus a 49.7mm on GRX, so you're looking at more that 5mm difference, which is very significant.
I'd say this explains your problem with a 42t.
solution would be to find a chaining with positive offset, e.g. a Garbaruk one (https://r2-bike.com/GARBARUK-Kettenblatt-rund-1-fach-narrow-wide-LK-110-mm-Shimano-GRX-asymmetrisch-schwarz); they seem to have pretty significant offset, if you compare to the 49.7mm chainline of the GRX. might be worth a shot.

On paper it sound awesome, but i am not quite sure that it can be mounted on the Magene P515, the interface looks different even tho it is also 4x110BCD.

What's your chainline currently? Do this: https://www.sheldonbrown.com/chainline.html#:~:text=Chainline%20is%20measured%20from%20the,middle%20of%20the%20chainring%20teeth, except instead of taking the middle of the downtube take the average of the distance to the nearest and furthest point on the downtube.

It's true you'll either need more spacers or a less-offset chainring, but you shouldn't need to get to 49.7. SRAM wide is 47.5 and 42T should fit with that since the frames official clearance is 42. My current chainline is right about that 49.7 and I'm running a 50T, so you definitely need less than that.

I also finished my bike. Got the frame back in july, but had some other things before I could start the building. Also this is a bike that is a first for me in a lot of aspects, first carbon frame, carbon wheels, electrical shifting, 1x, and the first that I've built by myself.

Wheels: Elitewheels SLR Gravel 45mm depth
Tyres: Continental Terra Speed 40mm (for now, I had it as a spare. Planning to get a 45mm Pathfinder.)
Casette: SRAM Rival 10-46
Chainring: SRAM Rival E1 42T
Handlebars: Ican Blade-G

The biggest issue I encountered were the UDH hole in the frame was a bit undersized, I had the remove some paint there so the bushing could fit. Otherwise everything fits together nicely and it rides awesome. Had some anxiety on the first ride, eventhough I double checked every screw with 2, newly calibrated torque wrenches.
If anyone thinking about this frame I can easily recommend it! Also the full ordering process was smooth, Peggy answered all my questions quickly and I've received a status update about the frame with pictures during the whole process

That's a very nice build. One comment: it looks like you live in such a nice area and you chose a bridge over the highway for the pictures. The bike deserves better  . Just kidding, let us know how it rides after you've done some mileage. Enjoy!

Totally agree! It was on the way down from the hill that I remembered to take a picture. I enjoyed the ride too much.
