I’m considering getting the Velobuild VB-R-177 frame and wanted to ask a few questions before I dive in. My plan is to build it up with a mechanical groupset, but I’m a bit unsure about managing the internal cable routing. Has anyone here set up a mechanical groupset on this frame? How challenging is it to handle the cable routing, especially without any fancy tools?
I’m working within a budget similar to the cost of this frame, so if anyone has other frame suggestions in this price range, I’d love to hear them! This project is more about curiosity and the excitement of building my own bike from scratch. Plus, I’d like to ride it for a few months while I wait for my “serious race bike” to arrive.
